A lecture on how unequal sensory stimulation between brain hemispheres improves mental and physical health. The speaker critiques standard bilateral fitness and rehab approaches, arguing they miss how the brain actually activates.
Because now we're getting into brain function, because left side is going to do one side of the brain, right other. And this is where it gets to less of a guessing game, because it. A lot of times there's patterns, like people need more activation of the right side of their brain, the right brain stem, things like that. Mel's pointing towards the right side, pointing towards the right side, and movement is pointing towards the right side, and touch is pointing towards the right side. Now, I know, like, you really need more stimulus on the right side of your brain. And if you approach that from a general fitness perspective or even rehab perspective, that could lead you down the wrong path, because most approaches are very bilateral. Right. I'm going to have you pull this way. I'm going to be pushed this way. We're going to squat with both legs. We're going to hip hinge with both legs. And one of the most glaring things that I see with almost everyone that I work with, I'm talking, like, 95% of these people need more stuff on one side that's different than the stuff on the other side to help them feel better.
