This is a YouTube video titled "Why Patience Pays in Podcasting" featuring Beverley Simpson sharing her insights on improving podcasting skills through practice and extensive listening. The content is a monologue or a single-speaker reflection rather than a multi-person conversation.
You always are never going to be good when you start something. But just like working out, just like podcasting, just like anything in life, the more you do it, you're probably going to get a little bit better every time. And I think listening for me has been key as well. I'm an avid listener of a couple different podcasts. I probably, despite putting out a podcast once a week, I probably listened to 5, 10, maybe even 15 hours of podcasts a week. So my ratio of talking versus listening is significantly in favor of the listening aspect. And I think that allows me to hopefully articulate my thoughts well and interview properly, because I've heard how people ask questions, what the best ways are, and ultimately how to just shut up and listen.
