Cameron Herold traces how the AI narrative has swung three times: first, AI won't replace you, you'll replace yourself if you don't use it. Then it flipped to doomsday, 80% job loss. Now tech CEOs are walking it back because fear tanks markets and invites regulation. The truth is probably both: some jobs go, business accelerates.

I'm going to tell you something that you're not hearing from too many people in tech right now, but the narrative has changed on if AI is going to replace a lot of people or not. And let me explain why the narrative has changed. What we were saying for a couple of years was AI won't replace you, but someone using AI will. And then all of a sudden it became, wow, AI is going to obliterate 80% of the workforce. The reason that it has swung back now is all the CEOs and leadership of the big tech companies are realizing that the more they scare people and create fear about AI, the more the markets crash, the more their companies are at risk, and the more the government might actually put a stronghold and a throttle around AI's growth. So now they're saying, no, no, AI is not going to be replacing and it will just accelerate all companies. I think it's going to do both. What do you think? Drop a note in the comments.
