Short monologue by Cameron Herold advocating for authenticity in business: be yourself in dress, speech, and writing, treat business interactions like conversations with friends, and avoid adopting a forced ‘game face’. He argues that natural tone and consistent personal behavior make business interactions easier and more resonant.

I think it's really critical to just be yourself in business. The reality is everybody else is taken. As soon as you try to have a game face or be someone you're not, you don't resonate. You don't have the right tone. People are trying to read through you. It includes your dress code, the way you speak, the way you write. Just treat every single situation as if you're talking to a group of your friends. My dress code is always a first date dress code. If I wouldn't wear it on a first date, I'm not going to wear it into a business meeting. The way I talk to people is the way I talk to my kids. My girlfriend is the way I talk on stage. So my natural tone resonates with people. And I don't sit and try to be all political and overthink stuff. I treat every situation just as if I'm talking to a group of my friends. When you're completely yourself in business, everything gets so much easier.
