Cameron Herold argues that in business, 80% perfection (roughly a B result) is often sufficient to "get out the door." He contrasts workplace expectations with school grading — where only top students got A's — and notes that B's or even C's were often acceptable. If additional refinement is needed, an initial 80% solution can be handed to someone else to perfect (massage, tweak, redesign, or copyright).

So the reason that 80% perfect is good enough is most people are never looking for an A result. The reality is, in school, only the smartest kids ever got an A. B's were really good enough. In fact, often C's were good enough because we kind of graduated with whatever we got. But a B result, something that's maybe 80% perfect is usually good enough to get out the door. If it's not good enough and you need it actually maybe massaged or tweaked or perfected a little bit better, or designed a little bit better, maybe copyrighted a little bit better, it you can pass it to another person and have them perfect it.
