5 cosas que los perros hacen mejor que los humanos

This is a YouTube video titled "5 cosas que los perros hacen mejor que los humanos" created on February 9, 2018. The content is a narrated presentation by an animal expert discussing the five remarkable abilities in which dogs surpass humans, including their superior sense of smell and hearing, running speed, vigilance even while asleep, and their unconditional capacity for love and affection.
Dogs are extraordinary animals with qualities, instincts and reactions that are very different from ours. In just a few years, they are able to accumulate experiences that would take us around 30 years to live through and understand. For this reason, in this video by an animal expert, we will talk about the most outstanding qualities of these animals and detail the five things that dogs do better than humans. Let's get started. Without a doubt, dogs have one of the most developed senses of smell, and we will explain why below. The reason for this superiority is simply physiological. The nose, the respiratory system, and the area of the brain that deals with smell are much more developed. A dog has between 200 and 300 million olfactory cells, while a human has around 5 million. Similarly, the area of the dog's brain that processes the information captured by the olfactory cells is 40% larger than that of a human. Ultimately, and due to the aforementioned physiological circumstances, the canine sense of smell is between 10,000 and 100,000 times more powerful than the human sense. The sense of hearing is also more developed in dogs than in humans. Our hearing frequency range covers 20 to 20,000 hertz, while the canine hearing spectrum is between 20 and 65,000 hertz, with the most sensitive frequency being between 500 and 16,000. On the other hand, the dog's ear has 17 muscles to orient it in multiple directions, while the human ear only has nine. This figure is even more impressive if we take into account that, in general, we only use one or two of the nine muscles we have. In this way, given its wide auditory spectrum, the dog can hear ultrasounds that humans cannot detect. The speed at which a dog can run is greater than that of a human, even if the animal is not trained for it. Clearly, having the help of four legs and such a low center of gravity helps make this possible. An average dog can run for three or four minutes at 40 kilometers per hour, while an average person can run at around 20 km per hour. In the same period of time, elite athletes can run 100 meters at 40 kilometers per hour, while a greyhound can reach 60 kilometers per hour. Therefore, dogs undoubtedly run faster and better than people. All dogs can keep watch even when they are asleep. Around humans, however, this ability is not always present precisely because of their powerful sense of smell and keen hearing. These are the senses that allow them to be in a constant state of vigilance. Thus, any strange smell or sound can immediately disturb the dog, activating the rest of its senses. When a dog becomes attached to a human, it does so for life. It is as if the animal were bound to its guardian by an invisible and inviolable oath, an infinite and unconditional oath. Humans are capable of divorcing or breaking off all contact with people they have once loved. Dogs, on the other hand, cannot break that emotional bond. Therefore, if we talk about things that dogs do better than humans, we cannot ignore their ability to love and offer pure and sincere affection. And it is true that dogs are the only animals capable of loving us more than they love themselves. And that's it for the five things that dogs will always do much better than we do.
