5 Síntomas de un GATO ABURRIDO (y Qué Hacer)

An animal expert explains five signs your cat is bored, from destructive behavior to excessive sleeping, and how to fix it with play, enrichment, and interaction.
Just like people, cats can also be bored and discouraged. When a cat gets bored, it does so for a reason and it is usually related to a lack of enrichment, socialization and play. To help us correctly discern whether our cat is bored in this video by an animal expert, we will point out the five main symptoms of a bored cat, find out why, and take immediate action by following our advice. Let's get started. First, grooming routines increase when a cat compulsively licks its coat and even produces bald spots in its hair. It is a very clear sign that the poor cat is bored to the point of exasperation. When licking is so excessive, it can lead to a skin lesion called acral granuloma, a serious health problem that must be treated as soon as possible. This behavior is very stressful for the cat. This can affect it mentally and lead to depression. It is also a dangerous activity as it can lead to dangerous and annoying stomach hairballs. 2. Start eating more. One consequence of feline boredom is excessive food intake, a very human attitude. Since many people suffer from this same harmful behavior due to anxiety, depression or stress, boredom in cats causes them enormous stress. A pleasant and unhealthy way to alleviate boredom is to eat. Check the amount of food you offer your cat carefully to prevent obesity in your feline. Don't forget that it is harmful to their health. 3. Sleep at all hours. Cats normally sleep a lot. It is estimated that they sleep between 16 and 17 hours a day. A cat that does not enjoy any stimulating activity may sleep much more. This could initially be considered harmless, but it is not sleepy. Cats can stop grooming themselves and their appearance quickly deteriorates. They can also become dehydrated or suffer from loss of appetite. 4. Behavioral problems appear Lack of well being can lead to behavioral problems in cats. Some cats start to increase their marking behavior by scratching a variety of surfaces more frequently. Others may start to relieve themselves outside the litter box and others change the way they relate to their owners. 5. Social relationships are affected. As we mentioned earlier, a bored cat may start to display different behavior when interacting with members of its family. Some may ignore or even reject contact with their humans, but others, on the contrary, may experience aggression or hunting related behaviors, e.g. stalking and lunging at your feet when you pass by. Now we are going to show you some behaviors that we can adopt to prevent boredom in our cat. Play with your cat daily. One of the toys that we at Animal Expert recommend the most is the fishing rod for cats as it involves you also participating in the game. Something essential for your cat to have fun too. The truth is that toys and scratching posts can distract your cat for a while, but in the long run they will get bored if there is no real interaction. If you want to know how to make some toys for your cat, don't miss the list we have left for you in this card. Enrich your cat's daily life with stimuli that they have not experienced before, such as music, activities, food, other people. Enrichment will help them break out of the boredom. Routine contact with the sun will also provide them with extra energy, better synthesis of vitamins and will make them happy. Give them massages, caresses and lots of kisses. Cats love to feel loved and wanted. This will make them feel like they are part of a close, strong and affectionate family group. Finally, you can use catnip to provide psychological stimulation. If you want to know what catnip is and how to use it, don't miss the video that we have left for you in the description and on the card. Finally, if your cat is one of those who spends many hours alone, we recommend going to a shelter and adopting a companion who will help your cat spend the hours in company and fun. Both of you will appreciate it. And that's it for today's video. Don't hesitate to share it if you like this information and if you're not subscribed, don't hesitate to do so. Until next time, experts.
