A guide to safe vegetables for dogs, covering carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, peas, pumpkin, and spinach. Learn which ones are nutritious, how to prepare them, and why they're good for your dog's health.
Hi, everyone. Today I want to talk to you about some of the vegetables that you can give your dog without any problems, without worrying about whether or not they might upset their health. They are easily accessible vegetables that we all have at home. Okay? In the video, you'll see that I'll briefly talk about the properties of each one of them and how you can include them in the food that you prepare for them and thus provide them with all the benefits they contain. I hope you like the video. I want to tell you about some of the vegetables that you can give your dog without any problems and that you can always find at home because they are commonly consumed. We have pumpkin, potatoes, sweet potatoes, peas, spinach and carrots. The only one that you can give them raw is carrots. They love to eat them whole. The first thing you have to do is peel it because the skin is a little bitter, so they might reject it. But carrots are very good. They are very rich in carotenes, antioxidants and anti cancer agents, okay? They are also very good for our dog's eye and intestinal health. Even if you manage to make carrot juice and sneak it into your dog's food, it is very good for keeping their intestines free of parasites. Then we have, for example, potatoes. Potatoes, as I mentioned before, potatoes, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, peas and spinach. In this case, always cooked, okay? Because if they are not raw vegetables, they are indigestible for our dog. Potatoes, as I mentioned, are very rich in potassium fiber, carbohydrates, and have diuretic properties. Thanks to the starch in potatoes, they are very good for treating skin conditions. Even when our dog has digestive problems, is a little loose or has diarrhea, okay? Many times, the first thing we tend to do is give them rice, okay? Because rice stops diarrhea. The good thing is that if you see that giving your dog rice doesn't stop it completely, you can also give them boiled potatoes. Because the type of starch in potatoes is much better and many dogs assimilate it much better than the starch and rice. Then we have sweet potatoes. They are delicious. They love them because, as you know, they have a natural sweetness. They are rich in carbohydrates. They are a perfect source of energy for puppies, very active dogs, or even pregnant dogs. Even sweet potatoes are very good for our dog's cardiovascular system. Pumpkin. Those of you who know me already know that I love pumpkin. I always recommend it because it is, well, a really good vegetable for them, for their health. The good thing about pumpkin is that it is excellent in antioxidants. It is full of vitamins and folic acid and it is also very good for our dog's eye health. Peas. Peas are a very good vegetable, but it is true that some dogs like them more than others. Okay, two options before telling you about the properties. If you see that you give your dog whole peas and they do not eat them well, what you can do once they have been boiled is try to mash them. You can mix them with other vegetables and in this way you will be providing them with the properties of this vegetable. The thing is that they are very rich in vitamin C, calcium, magnesium and fiber. Well, apart from the good thing about it, it beneficial properties for circulation and can even reduce bad cholesterol in a dog's blood. Okay? It's also a good ally for the heart because it has vasodilator properties which are called ok. It helps with good blood circulation. And finally we have spinach. Here we have it chopped, okay? But hey, you know that it can be found chopped or even in whole leaves. The good thing about it is that spinach is great because it's a very rich source of vitamins, fibers, potassium and minerals. It also has many antioxidant properties, just like pumpkin. And like most, if not all green vegetables that we find, it has anti cancer properties. Even if your dog is pregnant, it's very good to give her spinach because it has a high content of folic acid. And so, well, as you know, it's very good during pregnancy, no.
