Hello and welcome to this new video from Animal Expert. Today we're going to talk about the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a particularly sociable and affectionate dog breed. This breed originated in England and the first specimens date back to the time of Elizabeth I of England. It was probably the result of crossing Pekingese with Japanese water dogs. It was particularly popular in the English monarchy, but was especially appreciated by Charles Segui, who could not be separated from his dogs even at state gatherings. It is currently one of the most popular and beloved English dog breeds in Spain and Latin America. The Cavalier King is a small, well proportioned dog with a sweet appearance. It weighs between 5 and 8 kg and its height at the withers is between 30 and 33 cm. Its smooth and silky coat is also noteworthy which also has fringes on the ears, tail, limbs and trunk. Continuing with the colors of the coat, the FCI recognizes four. The Cavalier breed stands out for its cheerful, friendly and docile nature. It adapts to all types of families, from those with small children to those with elderly people. They are ideal as assisted therapy dogs. Although they are not particularly nervous, they are active and playful dogs, so we must offer them an active lifestyle as much as possible. They usually get along wonderfully with other dogs and pets as long as attention is paid to their socialization. Lack of exercise can cause our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to become overweight and obese, so we recommend a minimum of three daily walks and physical exercise. It is also essential to take care of their coat with regular brushing every three or four days at least, and bathing them every one or two months. Training the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is quite simple. We will start in their puppy stage, socializing them and beginning with basic training such as urinating on a newspaper and later urinating on the street later, always using positive reinforcement. We will start with the basic evidence, which includes sitting, lying down or staying still among others throughout his life. Even in old age. We will also provide him with mental stimulation exercises to keep his mind active. The life expectancy of the Cavalier King is between nine and 14 years due to his high predisposition to suffer from various hereditary diseases, among which Syringomyelia stands out. It is estimated that around 33% of the Cavalier population suffers from it and it is especially painful and serious. It is also prone to other serious degenerative diseases. For all these reasons, we recommend that you visit the vet every six months, follow the vaccination schedule and the deworming guidelines. All this will help you prevent and quickly detect any disease. If you like this video. Give us a like subscribe and tell us what you thought of this breed.
