Hi, everyone. We're Adriana and Gyro from Gyro Border Collie. And today we're with animal expert to explain what a clicker is. What is a clicker? Well, a clicker is this device here that makes a clicking sound. Okay. And it's a tool that will help the dog understand us better. Why? Because we're going to mark the exact moment when the dog does the exercise correctly. What is the clicker based on? The clicker is based on Pavlov's classical conditioning and is based on the bell experiment. What does this experiment consist of? Before starting, we present the dog with two stimuli. One is food and the other is the sound of a bell. When the dog receives food, its involuntary response is salivation. And when the bell sounds, there is no response at all. So in the experiment that Pablo did, he presented the dog with food at the same time as he presented it with the sound of a bell. In this way, these two events that occurred at the same time often ended up pairing up, so that in the end, when we presented the dog with only the sound of the bell, the involuntary response was also salivation. Thus, the sound of the bell was conditioned to that involuntary response of the dog. And that is what we want to achieve with the clicker. That the dog associates that click with the food, that will be its reward for having done something. Well, I hope you liked it.
