CLICKER para PERROS - Cómo adiestrar a un perro con un clicker

Adriana teaches how to train dogs with a clicker by pairing the click sound with food rewards. She demonstrates the timing and technique needed to make the method work, showing step-by-step how to build the association that makes clicker training effective.
Hi, everyone. We're Adriana and this is Giro da Gyro, Border Collie. And today we're with animal expert to explain how to train your dog with a clicker. In order to work with the clicker with your dog, the first thing you have to do is charge the clicker. What does that mean? What we have to do is get the dog to associate the click with food. Okay? So for about five days or so, what we're going to do is click and give it a treat just for the sake of it. Several times a day, click and treat so that the dog finishes its food after a few days. When you click, if you see that the dog is already reacting and turning its head, that means that it has already made the association click with food and you can start working. How do we work with the clicker? It's important that when we work with the clicker, we mark the exact moment when the dog does the exercise correctly. Okay? We call that timing. It's super important because if we mark it incorrectly, the dog won't understand what we want to convey. For example, if we want to teach the dog to give its paw, okay. We'll hold the treats and the clicker in one hand so we can work properly with the other hand. Okay? So turn. Come here, King. Come, come here. We sit the dog down, put our hand on it, and as soon as the dog puts its paw on our hand, we click and reward it. Turn. Okay? Very good. Okay, it's super important. Don't click before or after, but at the exact moment. Good. When it puts its hand on it. If you notice, when I click the dog, it moves its head a little because it already reacts. It already associates that sound with the food. Okay? Good. Paw. If we click wrong, it's okay. We have to give it the treat anyway. Okay? And next time we will click at the exact moment. Because a click always has to be accompanied by rewards so that the dog does not lose that relationship, that association that we have made of food and click. Once we have achieved the desired behavior, we can remove the clicker without any problem. It is not necessary to follow any process because the clicker is not part of that behavior itself, but is only a tool that has helped us in the process. I hope you liked it.
