It has large ears that are always drooping and it has large eyes. The cocker spaniel has a wide variety of coat colors and therefore we can choose any color we want. The English and American cockers are quite different to the point that in the 1940s they were considered a completely different breed. We could say that the American cocker spaniel has forgotten about hunting and is now a show dog and a total house dog. Characteristics of the English Cocker Spaniel it originated in England. It is a companion and hunting dog. They usually live about 14 years or so. The male is between 39 and 40 cm tall, while the females are 38 or 39 cm. The weight of the males is 13 to 15 kg. The females weigh more or less the same as the males. They have a coat that can be many different colors, brown, black, black with white spots, etc. The coat is medium long and has to be brushed regularly. It has very long ears that touch the ground when they smell traces and they often have problems with infections. So we have to be very careful with these problems of ear infections.
