¿Cómo CEPILLAR a un PERRO de PELO LARGO? 🐶 Pasos a seguir

Joanna from NEA Dog Grooming in Barcelona shows how to brush a long-haired dog, using a Maltese named Bimba. She covers detangling knots, brushing technique, and how to safely clean the face and ears.
Hi, I'm Joanna from NEA Dog Grooming in Pared del Valle, Barcelona. Here we have Bimba, this Maltese dog that her owners left us. In collaboration with B. Formacion, we're going to show you how to brush a long haired dog. Well. Here we have it. We're going to start with a carder and a flat comb to check for knots and to open up the hair a little more. So first of all, we're going to use a biphasic comb. The biphasic comb will moisturize the hair so that when we brush it, it doesn't break it too much. Let's get started. We have to move all the biphasic combs to mix them together. Wet the animal well so that it gets into the hair well. Then with one hand we hold the hair upwards and the carder with the other. And we're going to brush in layers. That way the dog will be brushed well. You start with the paw with your hand going up. And when you have a leg, test it with the combination. The comb will tell you if it is well brushed, if there are any knots, and if you then find a knot like hers, what you can do here is open the knot with the tips of your fingers. Open it a little and then go over it again with the brush. Okay, go over it again and so on until the knot is undone. If you see that it is still a little tangled, go over it again with the brush. This way you will untangle the knot. Always be careful when you pick it up. You have to make a circular motion. Take your thumb here and make a circular motion. Avoid touching the skin because you don't need to apply force, but gently make the movement. Okay, let's check that it is free of knots. If you see that it resists a little, you can also add a little more. Okay, let's check that there are no knots. And when it's free of knots, we move on to the next phase. We can do the tail, wet it well and do the same thing. The thing is that since the tail is longer, we're going to do it in layers, little by little, opening the hair. This is where a lot of knots usually accumulate. It's usually the longest hair and it doesn't get brushed much. Let's try it with the comb. Now we're not going to go to this area now. This area is where you can grab the most knots with your hand, which is better. And then go down again with the brush. Little by little you can see if it's free of knots. Or not opening the hair whenever it opens up. Well, for maintenance, this has to be done once a day, at night when you watch tv or at any free time you have. And you'll be brushing the dog for about five or 10 minutes. But then it will be better because then it won't get knots. Then after bathing, it will be better, faster, and you'll always have your dog looking much better. Okay, let's start with the front leg too. You take the same thing as with the back leg. You take the lock from the top and with the brush you go down here. It usually gets more tangled because the spikes get caught more. It tends to get stuck more. In spring, when you cut the grass, there are usually more spikes. They get scrubbed more and so on. So every time you take them out for a walk, you brush their legs a little and remove any thorns that they might have. That way you prevent knots from forming. Okay, this side is done. Let's go here. Just like with the bottom, I'll prepare the tummy a little more. All this on the body, the trunk and so on is the same. You have to open the hair little by little. Doing it here, you can see that now that it's more open. There are no doubts here. And when it comes to the face, it's very delicate because it has little eyes, a nose and a mouth. And you have to go little by little, lift the ear and brush as best you can. They behave very well, but there are many who behave very badly. They move around a lot, but with a lot of patience and love you can achieve things. There are some wipes, some gauze, an eye cleaner and so on that can be cleaned every day. Here you take the gauze and clean it on one side and the other, and the whiskers here too. It is also very important that you rub the ears, put your fingers in them and so on, so that they get used to it, whether you go to the vet or the groomer, so that your dog is more comfortable. Okay, this side is done. And on the other side we do the same, the same operation. We start here, down here and finish at the head. Okay, we have finished brushing the Maltese. It also works for long haired dogs, for most and others size, bichon, frise, poodles and others. And with this step the maintenance of your furry friends will be much better. I would also like to tell you that if you like animals and want to learn dog grooming, you just have to search for bee training. And there you will find all the information and you will have at your disposal the following videos to finish the maintenance at home. Well, and for anything that you cannot get. Well, we are here at Search and Dog Grooming and we will help you in whatever way we can. Okay, thank you very much.
