¿Cómo cortar el pelo a un perro? 🐶 CORTE BÁSICO | Animal Salut

Animal Salut shows how to give your dog a basic haircut at home. The video walks through grooming techniques and tools, stressing how to keep your dog calm and safe during the process.
Welcome to this new video from Experto Animal. Today, in collaboration with the Animal Salud Clinic, we are going to show you how to give a standard haircut to a dog. As you will see in the video, it is a process that requires knowledge and experience. So if you are not a professional, we do not recommend doing it yourself, but rather going to a dog groomer. The first thing we will do is give our dog a bath on the best day to have the haircut. As always, we will use a neutral shampoo so as not to damage our dog's skin. We will pay special attention to areas such as the paws and snout. We have put earplugs in the ears as it is highly recommended to prevent water from getting in. If we do not have any, we will have to be very careful the first time we will dry it. We will gently dry it with a towel to remove excess water. Then, with the help of the hairdryer, we will use a comb to remove the most superficial knots. We can use this comb everywhere, ears, paws and also the tail. With this comb that you see, we remove the knots that are most difficult to remove. We can start, for example, with the legs. We will start cutting with round tipped scissors. This way we will avoid poking the dog if it moves. Carefully remove the thickest part of the hair, separate the pads and cut with the scissors again. Remember the importance of doing it gently and tactfully, especially if we have never trimmed this area before. However, we must be patient and use positive reinforcement to ensure that our dog is calm. It is essential to prevent any damage or the appearance of fears and stress. In the text box you will find some links to work on it. We will follow the same procedure on all 44 legs. We can also do it another way. Rest the dog's paw on the ground and pass the rounded scissors to achieve the same shape as the foot on the dog's belly. We'll carefully clip the area very closely as it's the area that gets dirty the most, and in this case, even a little bit more, since it's male like this one, so we'll avoid it smelling like pee later. We should always clip with the clippers in the direction of the hair, never against the hair. And when we get to the middle of the belly, we should follow the shape of the hair. That's why we should go down like this. Otherwise there would be stripes that wouldn't be at all aesthetic. We'll lower the clippers until it ends at the belly and we'll do the rest with the scissors.

These are the main scissors we'll use. We'll find the curved scissors for shaping, then the flat one, the thinning one that helps us remove volume. And the last one is also a thinning one that does the same thing, but thins out much faster. We start by shaping the lower part of the belly like this. And then we'll continue shaping and thinning with the thinning scissors. With it we can thin out all the body parts.

Then for the tail we should do it this way, since it is also one of the parts that we should keep shorter and so that hygiene is easier. When our dog relieves itself, we will continue with the tail, which we should previously untangle with the comb, since this area usually has longer hair and therefore many more knots. Once combed, we make the cut from below, giving it this shape. We continue combing, removing the knots from the head. Now we will remove the excess hair from the eyes, starting with the tear duct area, like this. In the muzzle area, we must hold our dog very gently so that it does not open its mouth and never hurt it, and follow a round shape, as you can see. Remember that this type of work is best done by a specialist who knows how to handle the dog and who has the right tools. There it is.

We always use thinning scissors. Scissors to leave everything more polished.
Sam.
Oh. In the ear area we will continue with the thinning scissors to remove excess hair. And at the tip of the ear itself, we will comb it to remove knots. And with the straight cut scissors, we will cut like this.
Sam.
As we always say, the dog has to be as calm as possible and we should always use positive reinforcement to achieve this. We will continue outlining the area of the face until it is left like this. And now we have our standard cut finished. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the Animal Salud Clinic or stop by their center in Barcelona so they can give your pet a haircut Greetings and see you in the next video. Until next time, experts.
