Cómo Hacer el Mantenimiento de tu Estanque en Verano 🌿🐟 | Limpieza, Filtro y Control de Algas

A step-by-step guide to summer pond maintenance: cleaning the filter, replacing the germicidal lamp bulb, vacuuming the bottom, and preparing the water for fish. Learn how to control algae and keep your pond healthy through the hot months.
Foreign Hi everyone. You've already caught me here. I'm doing the first maintenance on the pond. It's getting a little warmer now. The rains have gone. You can finally see how wild everything is. And today it's time to do the first major maintenance of the year. Today we're going to clean the filter thoroughly. We're going to really remove all the foam. We're going to wash it well. On the other hand, we're going to replace the bulb of the germicidal algicide lamp that helps us control algae. And we're also going to vacuum the bottom of the pond, which is full of leaves and organic matter that could possibly cause us some problems with the water quality. Keep in mind that this is going to be the first phase. Then a week later we're going to have to analyze the water to see what the values we may have to check the pH. The KHS and I would also always like the water to be okay to introduce fish. But what is never recommended under any circumstances is to start with fish. If you haven't done this major maintenance here, I'm going to show you everything you need. First of all, and I've already mentioned this, when you're going to work in a pond or an aquarium, you the first thing you have to do for your own safety is disconnect all the devices. Once that's done, I'm going to disassemble the germicidal lamp so I can change the bulb. Once I was able to unhook the lamp that was attached to the filter, mind you, it took me a while, I was able to disassemble it. You have to be very patient and do everything very carefully. Why? Because this type of lamp, as you can see, is, is hermetically sealed and protected by this, which is basically a quartz glass tube. This allows the ultraviolet rays to escape. I had to clean the inside, obviously of what is the protector. It was full of dirt. After cleaning it well and being very careful with this, which is what protects the bulb, all that's left is to replace the bulb with a new one. Important when you're going to replace a new bulb, you should never touch it with your bare hand. This basically causes the bulb to have some problems later on. Insist once more, be patient. This is a process that can take some time. I've finished installing it. Wait. We have a video where I explain step by step how to disassemble and install it. So I recommend that if you want to see a step by step of how to replace it. There is a video here. Now it's time to put it inside what would be its protector, as you can see. And basically now I'm going to start with the filter. That is really disgusting. I'm going to have to vacuum it, remove all the foam, everything but that in a minute. Now comes the really hard work. I'm going to have to clean the filtration drawer. I've already removed all the foam so I can clean it outside. You can't imagine how disgusting it is. It's true that you won't be able to see good images because it really is complicated. But I'm telling you something. Thank goodness I have this vacuum cleaner. I have videos where I explain how to use this type of vacuum cleaner that makes your life a lot easier for jobs like this. All this water that I'm evacuating is perfect for using on the plants. It is rich in nitrogen complexes such as nitrates. Look, this type of water, so rich in nutrients, helps this vegetation grow so lushly. And of course, we will have to prune it well. Well, now it's time for the dirty work. It's time to clean the foam. Look, this is after winter. How dirty they are. Hey, we have a video where I explain perfectly how to clean a filtration system. Now I'm going to dedicate myself in depth to removing all the dirt. But I wanted to show you so that you can see how important it is to do this first maintenance at the beginning of the pond season. And if you're wondering how to clean a pond filtration system, you can usually use running water. Remember that it's a large volume of water and you really need to clean these foams well with a lot of pressure. Don't worry, because we're also going to use a biological activator, a biological complex, in this case, health filter, which I've talked about in many videos about this product. It's wonderful. We're going to clean it well, and then we're going to use this, which is going to be a buster. It's going to activate the biological part of the filter. Next, I'll talk a little bit about vacuuming the pond and I'll show you another trick. Remember, you have to clean the sponges thoroughly on all sides. Another thing, this mud, this crap that you see here is wonderful for the plants. That's why I'm doing it under this plum tree. I'm going to give all the sponges a good beating. And now when I'm done, I'll start assembling the hermicidal lamp, it's been a bit of an arduous task because of course, imagine getting here and changing all the sponges. With the vegetation, it's a lot more complicated. But now it's time to clean the sponges and use this. It's a wonderful product. It's a starter for filters. It's a gel that you add to the foam. And what it does is basically help the bacteria grow much healthier and faster so that the water conditions don't change and it's completely safe for your fish. It's very important to always shake it well. And of course, for the volume of water, I'm going to have to use these two bottles. I have already checked that the germicidal lamp is installed correctly. I had to check, obviously, by placing the pump, the pump has pushed the water. We have no leaks. That means that this part is ready. It is clean. The bulb has been changed and replaced. Now it is time to vacuum the sludge that is at the bottom. Be careful. You always have to be careful with the fish. You have to go slowly so that the pump and the vacuum cleaner can make the fish move well. At this point, all that remains is to finish cleaning all the sludge from the pond. In this first phase, in a week I will analyze the water and depending on the values, I will have to take some measures. Usually when you leave a pond standing for so long, you will have problems with the caches and ph. But anyway, we are going to do an analysis and through the analysis we will know what to do. Also, in a future video, I will show you how to clean the pump, because it is also important to do a complete cleaning of the pump. As I said, I will now leave the cleaning of the bottom. We're going to continue making content, which is very interesting and I would like to know your opinion. Do you like red comets or yellow comets more?
