Cómo MEJORAR LA VIDA de los GATOS CALLEJEROS con gestos cotidianos 🍑🙀 🚘

Carlos, a clinical veterinarian, shares everyday ways to help stray cats: proper waste disposal, feeding, and coordinating with your community. Small actions can meaningfully improve their lives.
Elecoton in syrup has always reminded me of Christmas. That little sugar with that sweet flavor I could drink the whole can of. But you know how dangerous this is for a street cat. Hello, I'm Carlos, a clinical veterinarian at Small Animals. Welcome to the Happy Pets and Families Channel. There are many cats that are not lucky enough to have a family like the one who probably lives with you. They usually live in neighborhoods. In our neighborhoods, in our cities, there are even many people who are uncomfortable with these cats being there. And these people can be a danger to them because in their desire to kick them out of their neighborhood, they can end up doing terrible things. They however you care about, their health, their well being, and there are four simple things you can do to improve their quality of life. That's what today's video is about. Think of small gestures. Simply leave the trash that you take out of your house every day. Inside the container, the place outside to prevent these cats from having easy food nearby and from being able to access the waste, the garbage that we produce at home to eat. In this way, you. You will achieve several things. The first and most important thing is that they never eat food that is in poor condition, that is in the trash, and that could sit badly with them and be dangerous for them. Or even remains of chemical products such as laundry detergent, for example. If you have thrown any remains in your trash, it will all be mixed with the food. And if they eat that type of food, they could get poisoned. And secondly, the cats will not be able to access the bags and they will not dirty your neighborhood and they will not be a nuisance to those people who want to throw them out of it. Leaving cans like this in the trash is dangerous because they can put their heads in here to lick this syrup that is so delicious and that I love and that stray cats also love. And they can cut themselves on all these edges. I have had cases come to the office with a cat with huge cuts here because it had put its head in a can that was perhaps a little smaller than this one and was unable to get it out. In the end, we had to cut it off very carefully with scissors in the office because the can was almost cutting its neck. There's a simple thing you can do from home if you want to help stray cats crush the cans, it heals it. I'm going to leave it a little more bent. If you leave the can like this, no cat will be able to put its head in here to lick what's inside the can. And that way none of them will be able to cut themselves either. I always do it and it's not hard at all. I'm going to finish eating my peach. You can also help cats every time you leave for work. For example, in the morning, before starting the engine of your car, make sure you have tapped the hood. In winter, cats get inside car engines because it is warm there. If you tap the hood a few times, the cat will get scared and get out before you start the engine and you could hurt it with the engine. If you want to be on the safe side after doing this, you can also honk the horn to scare the cat. And if it has been hanging around inside for a while, it will escape. Although then you will be the one bothering your neighbor. But hey, it is for the greater good. If a colony is being established in your neighborhood and you want to help the cats directly, first see if there is someone who is already taking care of it. For example, where I live, there are some elderly ladies who take care of the cats that are around the neighborhood. These ladies feed them every day, clean their water and clean their areas a bit so that these cats are well cared for. In order to help this colony, you have to coordinate with these people. This way you can better distribute the feeding and cleaning shifts. And you can make sure that these cats are not overfed and that the food you are giving them is correct. Of course, it is also possible that you have not seen anyone caring for the cats. In that case, I recommend that you put up signs because it is possible that at the time you were there, the neighbors were not there caring for them. So put up a sign near where the cats are so that people know that you are willing to collaborate and that you can coordinate. Of course, if you. If you are the first person who wants to help these cats, the rest of the people will coordinate with you. They will write you a message and ask you how they can collaborate. This is exactly what Maria Jose, an animal rights activist from Placentia in the city where I am from, did. She put up a sign in the neighborhood. She was helping to coordinate with other people who wanted to help. That's how we met her and contacted her. And she explained to us in a very interesting and rarely seen video on the channel how she helped that feline colony. And it gave us a lot of inspiration. I going to leave it here for you to watch after watching this one. In any case, it's very important that you do, as my neighbors or Maria Jose do, always keep the neighborhood clean to prevent dirt from accumulating. There flies from accumulating. And in the end, the conditions in which the cats live are not the best for them. And never bring them food from your house. Soft food, the food that we eat is very easily contaminated by bacteria and can also be dangerous for cats. Plus it smells bad. Instead, you should always opt for dry food, a food that will remain stable in adverse conditions, such as very hot weather, for much longer. On the other hand, whenever you go out, take home the water bowls and put new ones in them and clean the ones that have been used during that time in your house. Change their water at least two or three times a day in the summer and at least once a day in the winter. But feeding a colony is absolutely useless if we do not have a CES or CER strategy behind it, as it is also called, which involves capturing the cat, sterilizing it at the veterinary clinic and releasing it, or returning it to the colony where they were. We do not capture them to adopt them, but simply to release them back into their environment, which was the colony. This way we will prevent them from reproducing without any type of control and bringing new cats into the world. Aggravating the problem of stray cats in our neighborhoods. Okay, we started with very simple advice, and now this is escalating to levels that are almost out of control. But don't worry, because you don't have to be in charge alone. You, you can check to see if there is any type of animal protection association in your city that is already working in your neighborhood or that has some type of plan for that colony. If they know that the colony exists, which is also possible, because they have no idea and it doesn't work for you to call the association and then just ignore the colony. Associations need us to help them in some way. They always need volunteers and hands to help with the important work that they do, either by volunteering or by contributing financially to them, because they live off our donations, and we all have to be aware of that. Few administrations help shelters and associations to carry out their work, and you can collaborate with them in a very simple way. There are some pages, like teaming, that allow you to donate from €1 per month, just €1, to the associations of your choice. Come on. With less than the cost of a coffee each day, you could help an association or several for a month. And that really makes a difference, because it's not just your euro, but also all the people who get in touch with them through these platforms and end up receiving money that is very important to them. And this is not a sponsored video, but Timmy seems to us to be a very useful tool and we want you to know about it too. The changes we want to make in our society have to start with ourselves. And if we want to help a colony that lives in our neighborhood, what we have to do is pitch in, consult with people who know how to care for colonies, and also do our bit. I also want to thank all those protection associations and individuals who take it upon themselves, giving their time and money to help animals that have nothing, that have no one. These people deserve all our admiration and a public tribute, which I hope this video will also serve to do. If you also help colonies, you can tell us about your experience below in the comments because we and the rest of the community would love to read it. And that's it for today's video. If you liked it, give it a like and share it with everyone. Remember to subscribe to our channel if you haven't already, because that way you won't miss any of our videos. And if you also hit the bell, YouTube will notify you every time we upload one. Thank you very much for following the Happy Pets and Families channel, and we'll see you in the next video. And as always, we're going to say hello to your pets who you've introduced to us through the Facebook group, but not without first telling you that we have a secondary channel on YouTube called Questions and Answers from a Veterinarian, where I answer very specific questions that you have in very, very short videos so that you always have them on hand and can consult them at almost any time. Well, let's get started. Oh, how handsome. This little guy who's kind of hidden is. His name is Juan Nieves. He's super handsome and super autumnal. And he's introduced to us by Karen Hernandez from Puerto Rico. We already know him because he appeared in our special video on the secondary channel about Christmas cats. Natalia introduces us to her kitty, Noah. She says she rescued her from the street when she was two months old. Well, look, what an appropriate topic for today. Look how pretty she is. Hey, she looks like a very big cat. How much does Noah weigh? And Ana Cordoba from Peru introduces us to her cat, whose name she didn't give me and tells me that she's getting a new scratching post. Let's see if that helps keep him from scratching the furniture. And let's see, if your cat likes to scratch vertical surfaces, it's best to buy him a vertical scratching post so that he can sharpen his nails the way he likes. The scratching post has to be stable because if not, he won't use it. But anyway, I hope it worked for him. Tell me about it in the comments. And if you want us to meet your animal family, your cat or your dog, what you have to do is introduce it in the Facebook group and that's it. We'll say goodbye until next week.
With a can in one hand, I'll push a piece into the other, and you eat it. It's delicious. You do it all in the shot. Yeah, like a bad ad. Hmm. All the noises in the world. But I have to swallow the piece first. Okay. Come on. Um, plus, you can also play the whistle. I don't know how to say it, but, hey, let them have it. It's very healthy. This is fruit only fruit. Okay, let's go. If you're in charge of helping animals, can you tell us on the. If you're in charge of helping animals that we have a parallel channel on YouTube called a secondary channel. All watch the same. Oh.
