The video aims to help viewers better understand their feline companions' emotional states.
There's a belief that cats are cold and distant animals, unlike dogs who are warm and affectionate. If you live with a feline, you will know that this statement is completely false, since cats feel many emotions and express their affection in very different ways. In this animal expert video, we answer the big question, do cats have feelings so that you can better understand how your furry friend feels? To understand how cats feel, it is necessary to know how to distinguish between feelings and emotions, since we often confuse them. Emotions are a set of neurochemical and hormonal responses that predispose us to react in a certain way to a specific stimulus. For example, seeing a snake can produce an immediate response of fear in many animals. Now, although many of these responses are instinctive, sometimes they are also due to learning. In other words, the information that the brain assimilates about what we have experienced will influence how we will react once that event is repeated. For example, if a dog suffered abuse in the past, it is likely to have an emotional response of fear towards people as it relates it to a negative experience. Feelings are similar to emotions, but they differ in that they include the conscious evaluation we make of the experience to better understand. Although both concepts have to do with how we experience a situation, emotions are basic and unidirectional as they appear immediately when the stimulus appears. In contrast, feelings have a reflective and self aware process. For example, you can be happy when remembering a moment that you have identified as happy, or see a snake and be able to analyze what you feel when you see it. Reflect to what extent it is logical or not to be afraid of it. To understand how a cat feels, it is necessary to put ourselves in its shoes. Avoiding using our human perspective, we have the ability to reflect on ourselves which allows us to form a self concept, distinguish ourselves from other individuals and feel complex emotions such as guilt or shame. It has not been demonstrated that cats have self awareness. Cats are purely emotional animals. They respond to different situations in the most appropriate way. They feel fear towards stimuli that are perceived as dangerous, or joy towards pleasant stimuli. For this reason, we cannot say that cats have feelings as such, but rather that they live in the here and now and do not need to reflect on their own experiences, but rather learn from them. Although emotional responses are basic and immediate, they evolve over time based on the experiences acquired. Therefore, it is not strange for a cat to be afraid of dogs, but at the same time be affectionate with the dog that lives at home. This is because it has created an affectionate bond with that dog and has learned that it does not represent any threat to it. Cats are peculiar animals and have many forms of communication with which to express how they feel. Some of these forms of expression can be purring, rubbing against you, or occasionally giving you an offering. Cats create an affectionate bond with people in a similar way to how a child would. Felines perceive their human as their source of physical and emotional security, as if they were their mother, since they provide them with all the care they need. Therefore, despite the fact that cats are rather temperamental animals with less reason than we are, this does not prevent them from feeling affection. We must not forget that cats are social animals and therefore need other living beings to survive. For this reason, feeling and expressing affection is of vital importance for our little friend. If you want to know if your cat misses you, we recommend that you watch the video that we have left for you above in which we reveal to you how cats miss their owners. Do you think your cat loves you? Sure thing. Tell us in the comments and don't forget to give it a good like if you enjoyed the video. Until next time, experts.
