The content features a primary speaker named Carlos, a clinical veterinarian specializing in small animals, who explains the use and types of synthetic feline pheromones to help cat owners manage their pets' behavior and stress. The video includes interactions with other participants named Jose and a third speaker, contributing to a casual and informative discussion about cat care. The video also includes viewer engagement segments and promotes related content on the channel. The language is Spanish, and the tone is educational with some informal conversational elements among the speakers. However, none of the speakers is named Javier Pariente.
Today I bring you one of the channel's great successes, Synthetic Feline Facial Pheromones, which I talk about a lot in the videos, and many people have no idea what I'm talking about. Do you have a clue? Hello, I'm Carlos, a clinical veterinarian in small animals. Welcome to the Happy Pets and Families Channel. Well, first of all, Happy New Year. This is the first video of 2020. Thank you very much for following us on the Happy Pets and Families Channel. And I hope that as your New Year's resolution, you've included continuing to watch our videos, please. I repeat myself a lot. I repeat myself like garlic. And in almost all the cat videos, the cursed synthetic feline pheromones come up.
Did you miss the facial pheromones? No, no. Done.
See me?
Well, no, I didn't miss the facial pheromones because there are many types of synthetic feline pheromones, and that's exactly what I' to talk to you about in this video today. What are they? It's a replica of cat pheromones that are made in laboratories so that we can use them at will. Well, when cats need them, they are a powerful ally. I'm telling you, only cats can perceive these pheromones. And in this way, they send messages to each other without speaking. Natural pheromones send messages to each other, and when we use them, we are sending them those messages artificially, but because we want cats to be better off in our homes. Well, now I'll tell you how many types of natural pheromones there are that cats use. There are many. For example, they are sexual when they are looking for a mate. They also have territorial ones when they mark trees or furniture in your home with their claws. There are also relaxation ones that are secreted, for example, by a mother when she is nursing her young, so that they are calm and peaceful. Of the synthetic ones, which is what we have come to talk about, there are basically three types. Synthetic feline facial pheromones, which are the ones I usually refer to in the videos. We also have synthetic relaxation pheromones, so that cats are much calmer, and synthetic territorial pheromones, which are the ones they have on their claws. What are synthetic feline facial pheromones used for? These are the ones I refer to the most in the videos because, well, they are somewhat versatile. They are similar to the ones they secrete with this part of their body. Cats normally use them to recognize other individuals who live with them and also certain areas of their home. Synthetic feline facial pheromones have two commercial presentations. On the one hand, you have them in a diffuser which you can plug into the wall so that it is constantly secreting, emitting, emitting pheromones throughout your home, and you also have them as a spray. I recommend that when there is a stressful situation with cats at home, we diffuse pheromones because that will help them to be much more relaxed. But for more specific moments, such as a car trip or when they have to use the carrier, use the spray ones. The spray ones will also be useful when you have to correct a specific habit of your cat. For example, if it is marking your sofa or peeing on your curtains at that time, after having cleaned the area well, you can apply synthetic feline facial pheromones there so that they do not recognize that area as a place to scratch or pee. We use the calming or relaxation pheromones, which are similar to those secreted by a mother when she is nursing her kittens when we are introducing two cats, because these pheromones will help them to be much more relaxed and prevent unnecessary stress and friction from arising. These types of pheromones are very useful, and you use them in a diffuser so that the gadget is constantly emitting pheromones in your house, and so that the two cats are relaxed all the time they are together or apart or, well, getting to know each other. Normally, once they have established a friendship, you don't need to keep using it because a relationship already exists and there are no fights or bad vibes between them. We used them in the video on how to introduce two cats that we already made here on the channel, and it seems that they worked perfectly for Jackie and Dana.
How powerful, man. I'm super happy.
And the third type of which is perhaps the least known, is territorial pheromones. The ones that cats have on their claws. Why are they the least known? Because people simply don't usually use them. Many times we only focus on facial pheromones and don't think that there is a whole world of pheromones beyond that, and that these can also help us. In cases where cats are marking the curtains or the sofa with their claws, they are applied with a liquid on your cat's scratching post so that it recognizes that this is the area where it has to go to take care of its nails. Do they really work well? Look, even if when your vet recommends them to you, you look at them as if they are a shaman Trying to sell you something that has no effect whatsoever. I can tell you that they do work. I can tell you that many times people look at me with that look of disbelief when I tell them, hey, your cat is stressed. You have to use pheromones at home, and people don't quite believe it. Obviously, each cat is different, and in some of them they may not work, as some of you have told me in the comments on the channel. But there are also many times when we are not using them correctly. And then what we are doing is that the cat is completely confused and does not know how to interpret the message that we are trying to send it. For example, if you put facial pheromones on the scratching post where you want it to mark, your cat will never use it as a scratching post because that pheromone is indicating that that is not the right place. Personally, when someone tells me that they do not work for them, it is because I think that they are not doing it right. Because the problem that I usually see in the clinic is that people want to use synthetic feline facial pheromones for everything. And obviously that does not work. It will depend on each type of problem you can use them of in combination. For example, a cat that scratches your sofa, on the sofa, where it is scratching you, where you do not want it to do so, you put facial pheromones and spray so that it begins to recognize that that area is not the area to mark with its claws. And the territorial ones, which are like a little pipette, you put them on top of their scratching post so that they start to recognize them little by little and start changing their habit from the sofa to where they need to do it, which is the scratching post. Sure. Another thing that I often see is that people use pheromones when their cats have some type of aggressive behavior and they say that it doesn't work. People come and say, oh, well, look, they told me about pheromones, and I go and plug in the diffuser because they told me that this way the cat will have much less stress and won't attack me. But if your cat is suffering from a period of aggression for any other reason, pheromones won't solve it on their own. They will help, but they won't be the only thing your cat needs. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'll leave you a video here that we've already made about feline aggression on the channel, so you can go and watch it. What happens if I never use them. Well, that's okay because there are many cats that don't need them. As I was saying, pheromones can be the solution to a very specific problem that cats have. If your cat doesn't exhibit any of these behaviors, you won't need to use them and probably won't have to use them in your entire life.
Congratulations on having such a clever cat.
Well, yes, listen, that's commendable. We're going to give him a medal. Do you accept animals? Now comes a delicate subject because I know that many of you, beyond having a dog or a cat, are very aware of animal welfare, animal protection, and preventing them from suffering in any way. I am too, and I think it's great that we all think the same. As I was saying, pheromones are synthetic, which means that they have been manufactured in a laboratory. They are molecules similar to those secreted by cats. But that does not mean that any type of animal or cat is used to extract the pheromones so that you can use them at home. As far as I know, they are vegan. No animal suffering occurs in their manufacture. What effects do they have on cats? Pheromones are not sedatives. They do not make cats drowsy. Don't worry about that. Pheromones are not going to make your cat addicted to them either. We are not going to turn your cat into a pheromone junkie. These products are not psychotropic. They are not going to make your cat hallucinate and see little pink elephants like Dumbo. In fact, they are sold without any type of veterinary prescription because they have no contraindications for the health of cats. Well, that's it. That was all I had to tell you about synthetic feline pheromones. Hey, it sounds really strange to say it without facial expressions.
You have helped confuse people.
That's right. I hope that if you had any doubts or questions or didn't really know how they work, this video has helped you and that since I mentioned them so much, we practically know them as if they were family. Oh, and no, this wasn't a sponsored video or anything like that. I didn't mention any brands because no one paid me to make this video. I simply did it to give you information that I think is very valuable when living with cats. And so that when you go back to the doctor's office, you don't look at me strangely when I recommend pheromones and don't think that I'm selling you homeopathy. Or something like that. And that's it for today's video. If you liked it, give it a like and share it with everyone. Remember to subscribe to our channel if you haven't already. Because look, if you're not interested in the topics, the videos also have a relaxing effect as if they were synthetic feline facial pheromones. And remember to hit the bell so that YouTube will notify you every time we upload new content. Thank you very much for following the Happy Pets and Families channel and I'll see you in the next video. And now let's meet your pets which you introduced to us in the Facebook group. But first, as always, I forgot we have a secondary channel here on YouTube called Questions and Answers from a Veterinarian where we answer very specific questions that you have in super short videos which will surely help you with your dog or cat. And now let's meet your feline and canine families. Well, I don't know what Jose has prepared for me. Sarah Caceres from Godoy introduces us to her kitty Milo, who is the yellow one, and to Peluso. She tells us that it's nice to meet you and your feline family too. And Barbara Lors tells us that she is a new subscriber to the channel, that she has recently met us and that she really likes our videos. She introduces us to her very large feline family. She introduces us to her kitten Abril, who is the black and white one here in front. Huma, who is the black kitten over there, the tricolor tiger named Lena and the orange one named Leo. Oh, and Eula introduces us to her new life partner, Tiburon. She says that he is only three months old and that she is a first time mother and that they are super hooked on the videos, learning lots of things. Look how cute he is. Well, if you want us to introduce your pets, you can introduce them to us in the Facebook group and we will put them in this section. And I'll leave you to rest now because these days have surely been hectic and you want to lose sight of me for a while. We will continue here. We can after week bringing you a video every Wednesday. See you next week. Okay. I don't know if this one will come out on a Wednesday or a Thursday. A Thursday. Question, what are they? Although I won't say no, but don't ask. But the question is what are they? Oh, of course, I had already mentioned this here. What are they for? Well, it doesn't matter because we made the cut at the Beginning, I had mentioned the three and then I had said what they are for. And that was when I was talking about this. Come on, please cut me off if you don't understand me.
No, no. If they stop watching your videos, don't worry, okay? I learned the first one. Kids, for those who don't know, this is a cassette and we listen to it on something called Wall Mong. People don't call it a cassette now they call it the cassette. Ah, the cassette. That's from the year of the Megatrees Club. Come on, come on, come on. Shut up. No, that even disgusts me. No, obviously I can't put my hand in the fire for a pharmaceutical laboratory. As far as I know, they are vegan, that we need the money.
That A gentleman from YouTube has told us that we have justice for glitter.
I don't accept excuses. That at any time of the day you can watch a 1 1/2 minute video. That at any time of the day you can watch a one minute video. Ah, the time is now. Live your life, carp. Jose is peeing. Peeing might also be censored in the video Pee.
