¿Cuál es la calidad de vida de GATOS CON LEUCEMIA? 🐱🏥| Historia real de Pikachu y Panadera

Carlos, a clinical veterinarian, shares the real story of Pikachu and Panadera, two rescued kittens living with feline leukemia and immunodeficiency. Despite their diagnoses, both cats have positive, fulfilling lives, challenging common misconceptions about these diseases and encouraging adoption.
Panadre and Pikachu have leukemia, but that doesn't stop them from enjoying their lives like any other cat. Hello, I'm Carlos, a clinical veterinarian at Small Animals. Welcome to the Happy Pets and Families Channel. Many times when I have to give you a diagnosis of diseases such as leukemia or immunodeficiency, I am met with great incomprehension and even rejection towards cats that suffer from them. But those of us who have had contact with these diseases know that many times this reaction is the result of misinformation and that cats that test positive can live quite well. Many of you write to me very overwhelmed in the comments of this channel or also through Instagram messages, because your cat has been diagnosed with leukemia or immunodeficiency, and you don't know what life awaits from that moment on. That's why today I want to introduce you to Pikachu and Panadera. They are two kittens that have been rescued from the streets by the Feline Defense association of Seville. Thanks to their work today, we can tell you their story. Both are currently being fostered at Lolay's house, who has given them a roof over their heads until they find a permanent home. But this work is sometimes very complex because such old kittens, and on top of that, when they have a positive diagnosis, do not usually find a permanent family. Pikachu was the first to arrive at Lol's house. There he lived with Broccoli. But Broccoli unfortunately passed away. And then Pikachu became very sad. So Loli knew that she had to take in a new feline companion for Pikachu. But of course, Pikachu was a cat that was positive for leukemia, so she had to choose a cat that was also positive. This is something I've already talked about in other videos. Since leukemia is transmitted between cats, although there is a vaccine against it, ideally, the cat that lives with a positive one should also be positive. As she knew, she took in Baker, who is positive for leukemia and immunodeficiency. Baker is what we call a double positive. The street is not a safe place for cats to live, and both have visible marks that this hard life has left them with. Pikachu, for example, suffered from the herpes virus, which affected his eyes, leaving him blind in one and with some vision in the other. But since cats can also orient themselves well, he can live perfectly in any house. In fact, his hearing is very well developed, and this also helps him catch any toy that Ol throws at him. Look how much fun he Has Pikachu. The truth is that he is super good and has gotten on very well with Baker, who is also very good. They have a great time together and play all day. It is not exactly known why Baker and her ears came about, although it could be that she was born like that or because she had some kind of accident with a car engine. Baker gets along very well with Pikachu, but she also gets along very well with Lolay and has a very good nature. In fact, Baker is so good that she even gets along with the vacuum cleaner. She loves it when Lolei runs over her. It relaxes her a lot and also encourages her to play. Let's see. Where have you seen a cat that does that? They both live a completely normal life. As you can see, being positive does not limit a cat's life. And you just have to be aware of basically three things. It is very important that they always want to eat and that they do not lose their appetite. That's number one. Well, as you can see, Pikachu and Baker eat quite well. In fact, Pikachu is like a file. He has to eat separately from Baker so that she does not go and take away his food. They must always be well nourished. For these cats that test positive for some type of virus, nutritional supplements are interesting which provide them with a huge amount of vitamins and help to make their immune system much stronger. If you are enjoying this video and have not yet subscribed to the channel, I don't know what you are waiting for. Subscribe to the button below and activate the bell so that YouTube will notify you every time we upload new content. Every week you will have a video as cool as this one, more or less. And I also take the opportunity to tell you that we have a secondary channel on YouTube called Questions and Answers from a Veterinarian. I'll leave a card up here so you can stop by and subscribe because we make very, very short and super exciting videos. End of commercial info and 3. Create a stress free environment. Stress greatly affects the immune system. In fact, you've heard me talk about stress in a lot of videos. And these types of cats need a much more relaxed environment to stay healthy. Nothing that a good family can't give them. Cats that are positive when they find a permanent home greatly reduce their stress because they have a family by their side that gives them everything they need and they don't have to face all those dangers that are on the street. All this advice that I'm giving you, of course, is general Cats that test positive first need a good check up at the vet and the first person you should listen to regarding whether they need a special diet or specific treatment is the vet. The rest of the care they require, as usual for any cat will require regular checkups at the vet, vaccinations and deworming. Because being positive does not mean that these cats are sick and that is something we all need to be clear about. Anyway, I have already talked about the care of cats that test positive for leukemia or immunodeficiency on the channel. Here are the videos we made about leukemia and immunodeficiency. If you have fallen in love with Pikachu and Baker, I would like to remind you that they are looking for a permanent home to live in. Contact the Feline Defense association of Seville for information. I am sure that you can give them the home they need to contact Feline Defense. We have left the information in the description box of this video and if you cannot adopt, share this video on your social networks. Surely there are some people who fall in love with them. Today I wanted to tell you the story of Pikachu and Baker because there is a lot of misinformation about the lives that cats that are positive for leukemia and immunodeficiation deficiency can lead. I constantly tell you that they can lead completely normal lives. Here is a case that proves it so that you can see that I am not making anything up. But sometimes when we are about to adopt a cat, we start making a shopping list and we only look at whether it is less than 4 months old or whether the cat has the colors of a Siamese. Please if you are thinking of adopting a cat when you ask at a shelter, ask first about the positive ones because you will be doing them the biggest favor of their life. And that's it for today's video. If you liked it, give it a like and share it with everyone. Thank you very much for following the Happy Pets and Families Channel and I'll see you in the next video. And we will finish by getting to know your animal families which you have introduced to us through the Facebook group. To start, we have Pilar who introduced us to Noobae AKA Nunu. She says she was rescued from the street. These are the kind of kittens that are given a chance and fill our lives and our homes. Nadan introduces us to her kitten Wasitos and says, hello group. What beautiful waysitoes. Inaria introduces us to her kitten Ross, who told us that he has inflammatory bowel disease and encouraged me to make a video where I talk about that topic. Well, I'll write it down for Naria and maybe in the future we'll talk about it. And if you want us to meet your animal family, what you have to do is introduce them to the Facebook group. We'll go there and select the photos to put in this section of the channel. See you next week.
Okay? Yes, for sure. And that's something we all have to be clear about. Oh, and that's it. And I'll close it. Right. And here I said and he gets along very well with Pikachu. But I've already said it. This is something I've already mentioned in another video. Okay. In fact. Well, we can put that here. Now they'll make a whole new life. Okay. And I'll say these on camera, or I'll say them read. Oh, the power just went out. Remember to subscribe. Okay. Naden is so handsome, isn't he? How handsome. If you're enjoying this channel, I don't find it strange to close like this. M.
