Hello and welcome to this new video from Animal Expert. Today we're going to talk about the Doberman, one of the most elegant and strong dogs in existence. Before we start, I'd like to remind you that the new Animal Expert app is now available. Don't forget to download it. Frieder Luis Doberman was the creator of this breed. As is known, Doberman was a tax collector who also worked part time capturing dogs for the pound. Since he had to move around in different places, some of them not very safe, Doberman decided to create a breed of dog that would be able to protect him and at the same time be attached to people. It is not known for sure which breeds were involved in the creation of the Doberman, but it is thought that dogs known as butcher's dogs were used which were similar to Rottweilers. It is also known that the Doberman is related to Rottweilers and Beaucerons. In past decades, the Doberman was very popular as a guard and protection dog. It was widely trained to serve as a police dog and to carry out work in the military. The breed has now lost its popularity and it is no longer so common to see these dogs in armed forces divisions. The Doberman Pinscher is a medium, large, strong, muscular and elegant dog. It has dark eyes and a short, hard and dense coat. There are black verm with rust red markings and brown verm which also have the same markings. The height at the withers is 68 to 72 cm for males and 63 to 68 for females. The weight is 40 to 45 for males and 32 to 35 kg for females. The Doberman Pinscher is one of the most intelligent dogs in existence. Essentially friendly and peaceful, the Doberman Pinscher is a dog that is very dependent on its family. So it is not suitable if we spend most of the day outside or if we cannot provide the care that this incredible breed deserves. Despite being a friendly dog with its own kind, the Doberman is somewhat distrustful of strangers. So it is advisable to socialize it thoroughly from puppyhood. Remember that this distrust does not make it a dangerous dog. However, it is in everyday life that the Doberman's character will really surprise us. It is an excellent dog when it comes to dealing with those it lives with. It is a sweet, affectionate and sensitive dog. Although they need a lot of exercise, these dogs can adapt to living in an apartment if they are given long daily walks and practice exercises that help them burn off energy. Despite this, they are dogs that do better if they have a garden where they can run and have fun. In any case, the Doberman is not an outdoor dog with a low capacity. To withstand the cold, the Doberman needs a cool place to sleep and rest. On the other hand, physical stimulation for the Doberman will not be enough. It will also need mental stimulation to help it relieve stress and the energy it may accumulate. Different intelligence games will help us work on this much needed aspect with it find. Finally, we will add that although a Doberman sheds regularly, its short coat requires little care. Occasional brushing and a bath every two months will suffice. Don't forget that the Obermann dog is considered a potentially dangerous dog in several countries. Getting it used to wearing a muzzle when it is younger will be essential to prevent it from rejecting it in adulthood. The Doberman is an extremely intelligent dog, so it needs more than usual education and training. It is essential to start with socialization, a process in which we teach our dog to relate to people, animals, objects and very different environments. Socialization prevents fear related behaviors in adulthood. Also in youth, we will begin to work on basic training commands and practice them in different situations, always using positive reinforcement. The use of punishment collars or training techniques based on punishment can lead to serious behavior.
