Foreign hello and welcome. In this new Animal Expert video, we'll be talking about the Siamese. The Siamese cat originated in the ancient kingdom of Siam, now Thailand. It was considered truly exclusive due to its white tones, a sacred color in Siam, and for that reason it was the best companion for royalty. From 1880 onwards, it began to spread to the United Kingdom and later to the United States. It was in the 1950s of the 20th century that the Siamese cat began to gain prominence, being chosen by many breeders and judges as members of beauty contests. There are two types of Siamese, the modern and the traditional. The modern or Siamese cat is a variety of Siamese cats that appeared in 2001, in which a more refined, elongated and oriental style is sought. The features are marked and pronounced. It is the type most used in beauty contests. The traditional Siamese cat, or tie, is probably the best known. Its build is typical of a common cat, displaying the typical and original colors of the traditional Siamese cat. The head is more rounded, as is the body style, with which is more compact. Both varieties are characterized by their typical pointed color scheme. The dark coloration where the body temperature is lower extremities, tail, face and ears contrast with the tones of the rest of the feline's body. The Zames cat stands out for its hyperactivity, common in cats of Asian origin, as well as its prodigious agility. It is a cheerful, fun and affectionate companion. It is an active and affable cat. Siamese cats are very loyal and devoted to their owners, from whom they love and demand attention. It is a very expressive breed and we will easily understand what it wants to convey to us, both displeasure and affection. Depending on the character of the cat, it can be very sociable and curious, although in less common cases we can get a fearful cat that will still be expectant when new people arrive at the home. The Siamese is a particularly clean and calm breed that will spend long periods of time grooming itself. For this reason, brushing it once or twice a week will be more than enough. It is also important to pay attention to a good facial cleaning every day to remove any eye discharge that may accumulate. Finally, we recommend encouraging your cat to move and exercise indoors to maintain its figure and feline qualities. Cats are generally in good health. Proof of this is the average age of this breed, which is between 15 and 21 years of longevity. The Siamese cat that lived the longest reached 36 years of age. Providing our pet with good care, affection and quality food is key to ensuring that it will be with us for a long, long time. Thank you very much for watching this video.
