Doge de Bordeaux the Dogue de Bordeaux dog breed originated in France. It is believed to have come from a cross between mastiffs and other breeds settled in France. In addition to being known by the name of Dogue de Bordeaux, it is also known as Dobu de Bordeaux or French Mastiff. Like many dogs, the Dogue de Bordeaux is a great guardian. It is a calm, affectionate, confident, patient, strong willed dog that barks little. It has an instinct to protect its family and does not like to be alone at all. Physical Characteristics the male Bordeaux mastiff weighs between 50 and 55 kg and the female between 45 and 55 kilogram. The male is between 60 and 68 cm tall and the female is between 58 and 66 cm tall. Its life expectancy is approximately 10 years and it is of medium size. The Bordeaux mastiff is a very strong and muscular dog. The head is short and wide with asymmetrical wrinkles on the sides and the neck is large and muscular. The eyes are oval in shape and set far apart. The color is usually dark hazel brown. The hair is short and fine and brown, black or red. It may have white spots. The limbs are robust and strong.
