Hello and welcome back to Animal Expert. In today's video we'll be talking about the Snouter dog. The Snouter dog originated in 19th century Germany where it excelled as a carriage companion and pest controller. However, it was also a popular dog in the home as a nanny dog and companion dog. Its name comes from the German word snow which means head, highlighting its most popular characteristics, its beard and mustache. Over time the breed became popular and was experimented with through different crosses that gave rise to the different sizes that exist today. As we have mentioned, there are three sizes of Snouter dogs. The miniature, which usually measures about 30 cm, the medium at 450 cm and the giant, which exceeds 60 cm in height. All three varieties stand out for having very hairy eyebrows and snouts and curious erect ears that end in points. The Snouter's coat is thick and very hard, although until now only black or salt and pepper specimens were observed. Today the miniature Snouter can also be white, black and silver. The Snouter stands out for having a very marked personality. It is an intelligent and self confident dog, generally with a stable character. It is also a sociable and affectionate dog, active outside the home and calm inside. Well trained. We will have by our side a very sweet and affectionate best friend with whom we can enjoy good times. It goes without saying that due to its social nature, the Snouter dog will suffer if it spends long periods of time alone, a situation that can cause separation anxiety and destructive habits. To do this, it is best to know in advance that we will be able to spend time with it or to provide a playmate with whom it can have fun. The Snorker will need daily brushing to help remove dead hair, prevent tangles and maintain a shiny and healthy coat. It is also important to follow a facial hygiene routine since eyebrow hair can reach the eyes puppy causing excessive tearing. The hairs on the muzzle can also accumulate dirt and even form small dreadlocks. For this reason, it is highly recommended to visit a new dog groomer three to four times a year. This is a good way to trim and keep its coat healthy. Finally, we want to remember that the snorker is a very active dog, so it is appropriate to offer it about three daily walks in which we will include moderate exercise or ball games to make it a happy dog. The snorker's education should be based on the use of positive reinforcement, which means rewarding the dog for its successes instead of scolding it when it makes mistakes. Following this method, we will teach it everything it needs to know in its puppy stage. Such as how to bite properly relieve itself outside and the first obedience commands in its puppy stage. We will continue the socialization process teaching our dog to relate to other dogs, animals, people or or objects. It is very important to be consistent and carry it out daily so that in its adult stage it shows a sociable and stable character. Finally, it will be very important to teach him basic obedience commands such as sit, come here, stay. This is essential for his safety and for good communication between us and the dog. The Schnauzer dog is usually very healthy. However, some of the most common ailments of the breed are hip dysplasia and fonicular dermatitis. However, with regular veterinary visits every six months and with proper follow up of the vaccination schedule, we will enjoy a healthy and happy dog by our side. Thank you very much for watching this video and if you liked it, give it a like. Don't forget to share it and visit our channel if you want to learn about other breeds. Until the next video. Sam.
