Enseñar a mi PERRO a dormir en su CAMA

Step-by-step guide to training your dog to sleep in its own bed. Choose the right bed, use treats to reinforce the behavior, and stay consistent with the training.
Hello and welcome to this new video from Animal Expert. Today we'll show you how to teach a dog to sleep in its own bed. Our furry friends love sleeping in our beds, but although it may seem adorable to share our sleep with them, this can cause problems in the long term. For this reason, it is recommended to teach your dog to sleep in its own bed from a young age. Before starting the procedure, it is important to be clear that the guidelines we are going to follow must be maintained throughout the training process. First of all, we must provide our dog with a comfortable and pleasant bed, since this will be the place where it will have to rest. The ideal bed must meet the following requirements. It must be large enough for your pet to rest comfortably. If your dog is a puppy, you can buy a bed that is based on the size it will reach as an adult and fill the excess space with cushions. Make sure the bed is padded so that the dog feels comfortable. Otherwise it is likely to prefer our bed and that is precisely what we want to avoid. Especially if our dog is a puppy, it is likely that he will urinate on the bed, so you will need to wash it. Choose a material that can be washed, such as beds that offer more mattress 100% washable. Now that we have the perfect bed, it is time to teach our dog to sleep in it. To do this, you will need a lot of patience, special dog treats and a suitable place to carry out the training. To start, you will need to hide a treat in your hand. We have used a small piece of digestive kibble. You will guide your dog with your hand until he gets on the bed and once there, you will ask him to lie down. Then reward him with the treat and congratulate him with a very good. If your dog does not seem interested in the bed or seems afraid of it, you can leave some treats on it so that he associates it positively. After several repetitions, you will be able to practice the exercise normally. Once your dog is able to lie down on the bed without fear, you should start doing repetitions. At first you will continue to guide him with the hidden treat, but later you will only guide him with your hand. When your dog begins to understand the exercise, he will lie down directly on the bed. That is a very good sign. Continue reinforcing and rewarding with both treats and your voice. Now we are going to increase the difficulty so that he will lie down every time we ask him to. To do this, you will have to move the bed to another place in the house and practice the same exercise there. If your dog lies down without problems in different places. Congratulations. Now you can introduce a physical or verbal cue. You can tell him go to your bed or go to sleep whichever you prefer. You are almost there now you need to keep working on it. We recommend that you practice this exercise daily until he has fully assimilated it. At first you will continue to use treats but you should gradually remove them so that he does not depend solely on food to obey you. Then you will move on to reinforcing him with caresses and praise. It is very possible that especially if the dog is a puppy, it will cry, bark or not stay in its bed. However, you must be consistent and continue with the training for as long as it takes until it adapts and feels comfortable. Have you tried these steps?
