¿Por qué a mi GATO le GUSTAN las CAJAS? 😻📦 (6 Motivos)

Cats love boxes for six reasons: survival instinct, hunting behavior, temperature comfort, curiosity, material texture, and stress relief. An animal expert explains why your cat gravitates toward cardboard.
Cats are very playful animals, capable of getting distracted by anything they find that seems even slightly curious. Has it ever happened to you that your cat would rather be inside an empty box than in its own soft bed? In this video by an animal expert, we'll tell you six reasons why cats love boxes so much. Don't miss it. First, the survival instinct. Although cats are very unlikely to come across anything that wants to harm them inside their home, they still have the instinct to stay safe from predators. Remember that they spend a large part of the day sleeping, so in order to feel calm, they need to find a place where they feel safe. For your cat, a box is like a cave where it can feel safe from any danger. It also allows it to isolate itself from the outside world and become a space just for itself. Its box is the place where it can be calm and enjoy solitude. Discover in the video above how to build a cardboard house for cats. Your kitty will surely love it. 2. Hunting. Cats in the wild are hunting animals. That's why, even if your cat lives indoors, it still has that natural instinct to be a predator of smaller beings. From the darkness of its box, the cat feels like it's on the lookout for its next prey. There it is, always ready to surprise it at any moment. In this case, its prey could be a toy that you show it, a human leg, or an insect that flies past its hiding place. For your cat, being in the box is a reminder of its hunting spirit. 3. The temperature. You've probably noticed that your cat loves to lie in the sun, hide between the sheets, and even inside closets, your kitty looks for the best places to stay warm and comfortable. So cardboard boxes are a great option because the material they're made of provides a warm and cozy refuge for your furry friend. Discover more reasons why cats like to lie in the sun in the video above. 4. Curiosity. Cats are very curious animals. If you live with a feline, you'll have noticed that they always want to smell, bite, and stick their head in or near things that arouse their curiosity. So if you've bought something that comes wrapped in a box, you'll want to investigate what it's made of. 5. The material of the box. The texture of the material of the box is perfect for the cat to scratch and bite, which you've surely noticed they love. Plus, they can sharpen their claws and mark their territory with ease. If you want to learn how to make a homemade scratching post with cardboard, be sure to watch the video that we have left for you above. 6. Stress. A study conducted by researchers from Utrecht University in the Netherlands concluded that boxes help manage stress in cats. The research was conducted in an animal shelter, where they chose 19 cats that had just arrived. This situation usually makes felines nervous when they find themselves in a new place, surrounded by so many unknown people and animals. Of the selected group, 10 were given boxes and the other nine were not. After a few days, it was concluded that those cats that had a box adapted more quickly than those that did not. The box allowed them to have their own place to isolate themselves when their surroundings were overwhelming.
