¿Qué es un perro tacita de té?

A teacup dog is an extremely small dog breed, often weighing just a few pounds. The video explains their origins, why they have serious health problems, and the ethical issues with breeding them so tiny.
Welcome to this new video from Animal Expert. Today we'll be talking about teacup dogs, a group of miniature breeds that are increasingly popular and in demand. But do you know what's behind these puppies that fit in the palm of your hand? Find out below. The rise in popularity of teacup dogs is mainly due to some celebrities such as Paris Hilton. She showed dogs and even her little pigs that fit in the palm of her hands or in small teacups, hence their name. A teacup dog can be of different breeds, but they should never exceed a weight of 1,800kg or be taller than 43cm when they are adults. It is worth noting that these measurements have not been standardized or recognized by the different canine organizations. To obtain a teacup dog, breeders choose the smallest dogs from a litter along with other especially small dogs to breed them. Teacup dogs are sometimes confused with toy dogs, although it is important to note that nano sized dogs exceed the aforementioned weight and size. The intention of breeders in creating these small dogs is simply economic. However, this entails various health problems for the dogs, which makes us delve deeper into the reasons why it is not advisable or ethical to promote the purchase and sale of teacup dogs. Some examples of the most popular teacup dogs are the Yorkshire Terrier, the Poodle or the Bichon. We can also find other breeds. According to the Canaan Journal, inbreeding, a very common practice in the selective breeding of purebred dogs, significantly shortens the life of the dog. In the case of teacup dogs, which paradoxically would live longer due to their small size breed, their life expectancy is considerably reduced. In addition, the risk of congenital diseases and mutations increases significantly. Teacup dog breeding techniques make them more prone to various health problems which can result in a poor quality of life. Some examples include hypoglycemia, heart defects and seizures, although there are many others. In addition, they are also susceptible to various behavioral problems, chronic stress and learning disabilities. The health problems of teacup dogs are mainly due to selective breeding techniques that have arisen as a result of the high demand for these types of dogs by owners. In addition, there are many breeders who are not licensed or have the conditions to breed dogs in optimal conditions. Considering that most associations and federations do not approve or recognize these types of dog breeds, we we advise against buying a dog that is advertised with these characteristics. At Animal Expert, we would like to add that advocating for the adoption of dogs makes the illegal and irresponsible breeding industry incompatible. If you already have a teacup dog, it will be essential that you inform yourself properly to provide it with the best care. Take note, in order to avoid hypoglycemia, these dogs should eat three to four times a day or approximately every three to four hours. In addition to offering them food that is appropriate for their characteristics, such as specific food for miniature dogs, we can also add corn oil to their meals to prevent low blood sugar levels. Likewise, we can enrich their diet with foods rich in vitamins, minerals and omega 3 fatty acids, ideal for good coat health. It is important to ensure that the dog does not suffer from stressful situations. To do this, we can develop a very specific routine of walks and meals, have short play sessions, and ensure the necessary 14 hours of sleep. It is not advisable to always take them with us, especially if we live in the city. Since too much stimulation can cause stress. The dog needs a comfortable environment at home to rest whenever it needs to. If any of the symptoms mentioned above appear, we should go to the vet to rule out any health problems. Although fractures are usually the most common reason for visits to the vet, these dogs are also susceptible to various diseases, so it is important to visit the vet every six to 12 months for a general exam. Don't forget to also follow the vaccination schedule and the deworming schedule. And that's it for today's video. What did you think?
