It comes from the near east and is characterized by its long, lush flowing hair. It can also come in a variety of colors including several shades of orange. Second, the American Bobtail the selection of the American Bobtail began in the mid 20th century from a short tailed cat found in Arizona. Today there is a long haired variety and a short haired variety. A wide variety of colors can appear in both, but tabby or marbled orange patterns are very common. Third, the tiger, also called the toy tiger, is one of the lesser known orange cat breeds. This is due to its recent selection which took place in California at the end of the 20th century. Its breeder achieved a striped pattern very similar to that of the wild tiger that is with with rounded stripes on an orange background. 4. Menken this cat stands out for its enormous size and striking coat. It originated on the farms of the state of Maine as a working cat and is currently the official breed of the United States. The mane has a long abundant coat that can have various patterns and colors. The orange tabby is quite common. Find out more about this incredible breed in the video that we have included in the card. 5. Oriental Shorthair Cat this feline was selected in England in the middle of the last century. It was made from the Siamese so it is also an elegant, elongated and stylized cat. However, it is very different due to its wide variety of colors. Orange tones with various patterns such as the tabby and the keo are common. 6. Exotic Cat Its name does not do it much justice since it is originally from the United States. There they cross the Persian cat with other types of cats obtaining a robust looking cat. However, its fur is shorter and denser and they can come in various colors. The most common are orange, light or cream tabby cats. 7. European cat this is the most ancient breed of cat. It it was domesticated in ancient Mesopotamia from the African wild cat. It later reached Europe along with some of the trading peoples of the time. Munchkin this cat is very unique as it has short legs that arose as a result of a natural mutation. In the 20th century, some American breeders decided to select and cross a series of short legged cats giving rise to this breed. However, they retain enormous color variability with many of them being orange. 9. Manx this cat comes from European cats that traveled to the Isle of Man, probably along with some British people. There in the 16th century, a dominant mutation arose that caused them to lose their tails. Due to isolation, this mutation spread to all the populations on the island. They are very versatile cats. In fact, orange cats are some of the most common. 10. Mixed breed cat Mixed breed cats are not a breed, but they are the most common in our homes and streets. These cats reproduce freely, driven by their animal instinct. For this reason, they have a large number of patterns and colors that give them a very unique beauty. The orange color is one of the most common in stray cats, which is why they should be part of this video. So if you want to adopt an orange cat, we encourage you to go to an animal shelter and fall in love with one of their felines, regardless of whether they are purebred or not.
