¿Sabes limpiar tu ACUARIO CUBO? Aprende a mantener el filtro 🐟 | #Peces #Mantenimiento | KIWOKO

This is a YouTube video titled "¿Sabes limpiar tu ACUARIO CUBO? Aprende a mantener el filtro 🐟 | #Peces #Mantenimiento | KIWOKO" created in May 2025. The content is a detailed instructional talk in Spanish about maintaining and cleaning a filtration system for a mid-level planted tropical community aquarium. The speaker explains the setup, the maturation process of the aquarium, water quality management, and step-by-step filter maintenance tips. It is a monologue focused on aquarium care and filtration system upkeep.
Foreign Today I'm going to talk about the filtration system I've chosen for this aquarium, which is a mid level planted tropical community aquarium. I chose an infiltration system, the classic version, model 2211. This small filter is perfect for aquariums with small water volumes. It's an aquarium that works very well, very quietly. Today I want to show you how I have it set up. I'd also like to talk about the maturation process the aquarium is undergoing. As you know, we've done PH tests. It wasn't very good. We've already corrected the nitrites. They're a little high. We've already corrected that. And the phosphates and silicates were very high. The. The latter are resisting a little. How did we correct it? By performing water changes every 72 hours. But today, I also want to give the filtration system a good cleaning. Changing the filter media, which are an essential part of controlling water quality. Okay, These are some of the instructions that you need to follow. If you are going to perform maintenance and cleaning of a filtration system, whether it is an external system, an internal system, or a backpack cascade system, you should remove some water from your aquarium. We are going to do a partial change. Do not discard this water. This water will help you clean the filter media. Remember that the filter media are obviously saturated with dirt, but also with microorganisms that help keep the water in good condition. What you should never do is take the filtration system and clean it under the tap or with boiling water or chemical products, because this would kill all the colonies of bacteria that are beneficial to your aquarium and that maintain good water quality. Having said that, let me explain. This is the filtration system. This would basically be the head, something very simple to use at home. It has a rotor. There is not much magic behind it. What is true is that it is very robust. And once you acquire a filter like this, you know that you have a good filter for years. To show you another part, this would be what we call the filtration vessel. The filtration vessel is here. Uh, you have a hose that is connected obviously to the inlet and outlet of the aquarium. Something very simple. You have a grid. And this is how I have this filtration system configured. Note that for a planted aquarium in its initiation phase, I have used a product. It is a little dirty. From the beginning, I have been using this product called Purigen. It is from the Sikken brand. And it is wonderful because what it does is help you, obviously in the nitrogen cycle, but also to remember that it's very, very sensitive. Now that everything is clean and in place, lets put this back here. And as I've shown you in many videos, this is a trick that works very, very well. Any type of Vaseline lip balm works well. You put it here on the blade, on this part of the rotor, and so on. When placing our rotor in position, careful. Watch out, you. Let's place this piece that's sticking out here. Very good. And we put the rotor in. Great. As you can see, that's doesn't take more than two minutes. And this is something that will guarantee that your filtration system works perfectly. Once the filter is closed, all the filter elements are in order. I'm telling you something, there's no need to refill the filter with water. I'm just going to connect this hose to the pipe that is connected to the aquarium and it will be filled with water through a connecting vessel. Then all that's left is to turn it on. But first I want to clean the algae in the aquarium and finish filling it with water that I have previously dechlorinated. Remember that if you have done a partial water change. This water is great for houseplants. It is rich in nitrogen complexes, especially nitrate. And if you have any questions, leave me a comment and I will try to answer them as soon as possible. And before I say goodbye, I would like to know what the results have been when you have used phosphware or Purahem.
