¿Tu PERRO tiene FOBIA a los RUIDOS FUERTES? 🐶🎆 #comportamientocanino #perrosconmiedo

Hi, I'm Isabel Nuno, a veterinarian with a degree in behavioral medicine at BETT and in collaboration with Baetacione. Today we're going to talk about the phobia of loud noises in dogs. In the canine population, approximately 4 out of 10 dogs have a phobia of loud noises, meaning loud noises such as firecrackers, fireworks, storms. There are several reasons why a dog may be afraid in general, but the main causes a genetic basis, such as since fear is one of the most heritable behavioral traits, it could also be due to poorly done socialization. The third major cause is traumatic experiences, especially during sensitive periods of development. But in addition to these, which are the general causes of fears in the case of noise phobias, we have two additional elements. One of them is that dogs have a very high auditory sensitivity. And on the other hand, there is the fact that many of these intense fears are difficult to predict. Yes.
