What'S going on everyone? Casey Adams here and welcome to the Rise of the Young podcast. On today's episode, it's going to be short because here's the truth. I'm currently recording this podcast and it's 3:44am and I have to book my Uber within the next 15 minutes so I can make it to the airport by 4:45 because my flight to Virginia takes off at 6:00'. Clock. And I just wanted you to be very clear on why this episode is short because here's the truth. I have not slept today. I just recorded a 30 minute piece of content with my buddy Ishan and Karen about our recent trip to Huawei. And if you want to know more about our trip to Huawei, you can listen to Friday's podcast which is titled the Truth About Huawei. And we go over why, what we learned and overall, just what's happening with Huawei because it's very big in the media right now. They're getting banned from the US and it is currently illegal to do business with Huawei if you are based in America. So we just got a private tour of them last week. So you may be thinking, and I've gotten a lot of people hitting me up on Instagram saying why did you associate with Huawei? What are you doing in China with Huawei, Blah blah blah. So if you want to know my non biased opinion and why I was in China with Huawei, go listen to the podcast that I did with Ishaan and Karen and let me know what you think. And that being said, if you're new here, make sure you drop a rating, make sure you drop a review, make sure you subscribe. Because the Rise of the Young podcast is your new favorite business podcast. And that being said, let's get into the show. Whoa. I'm excited because literally I'm looking at my phone right now, I have Uber pulled up and if I book an Uber right now, it's 13 minutes away, it will get me to the airport at 4:22am so my prediction is I need to get to the airport by 4:45, 5 o'. Clock. So I'm gonna book my Uber within 15 minutes. So for those listening, I want you to know that I'm literally sitting in my room, just finished packing for my trip. I'm about to go to Virginia for two and a half weeks. And if you're not familiar with my story, I am from Virginia. I moved here to Phoenix, Arizona about 10 months ago and my core purpose of moving here was business. I came out here to pursue my company which is build you'd empire and I have two amazing business partners, John Milott and Joshua Denny that are based out here in Phoenix. Therefore I moved to Phoenix and over the last year or 10 months, I should say I've been back home to Virginia about two times and it's always been quick, three to four or five days max. And I'm excited because I'm going to Virginia two and a half weeks, I booked a one way ticket, not really sure when I'm gonna come back or what will pop up. And that's what I want you to understand today. And that is being curious and being optimistic about where opportunities lead you. Literally the entire year of 2017, that was the year my life changed because. Because on January 15, that's when Tai Lopez flew me out to California. I met a guy named Jaden Gross. Then Jayden Gross flew me out to California the week after. And long story short, every single month in 2017 I was booking a one way flight to LA, sometimes round trip because I had school back then and I needed to get home for class. But I was, I would say most of the time booking a one way trip, not knowing. And I still do this to this day, not knowing when I'm going to come back. Because here's what I've noticed and I want you to let me know if this has happened to you too. Every time I either go to a business event or I go to a seminar or whatever it is, I end up meeting people or getting opportunities that I'm like, alright, let me, let me, let me just push my flight back one day, let me reschedule my flight. Actually let me just stay here for another three days because there's so much opportunity here and I cannot Pass up on this opportunity and I always end up rebooking my flight, sometimes losing money. And I've learned that when I go on two week trips or sometimes a week, booking a one way flight has saved me a lot of time, a lot of money and a lot of stress. So that's what I did this time as I'm visiting my family. And here's the rundown because I'm gonna be home for two weeks. I'm going to the beach for 4th of July with my aunts and uncles and cousins, shout out Jacob and Chase. And I'm excited. Literally, like family time to me is very valuable because those are the people in your life who you genuinely cherish. And I'm sure we can all agree to this one. There is so many fake people out there, whether that's in your life, whether that's in your circle, whether that's on social media, whatever it is. Genuine people, I wouldn't say are hard to come across because you create your network. But once you come across genuine people, keep them close. And family members, if you're lucky enough to have family in your life, are the people that genuinely care about you. So I don't want to keep this whole entire episode on family and I want this to be about making decisions. Because every decisions, every decision I've made up to this point is a reflection of who I am. And same for you. I want you listening right now, whether you're walking your dog or driving in your car or just sitting in your office. Understand this. Every decision you've made up to this point is a reflection of who you are. Look in the mirror, open up your phone, turn on the camera, look at yourself. Are you happy with who you are becoming? Are you happy with who you've become? And if you're not, then here is a wake up call. And here it is. Start becoming the person you need to become. Literally. Let me pull up my Twitter. I never ever tweet. But recently I've been just tweeting my thoughts. And here's what I said today. I said, you're not where you want to be because you haven't became the person you need to be. And I really want you to think about that. Because if you have became the person you want to be, you've therefore put in the work and done the things you need to do to become that person. And if you haven't, then here's the thing. Focus on the roots. And here's why I'm very excited to go back to Virginia. These next Two weeks is because sometimes I believe even myself, I get not caught up, but drained by the new and every new opportunity and every new thing. And I live for new opportunities, don't get me wrong. But I'm saying what got me to where I am is based off the foundation that I set. Right? And let me say that again, how I got to where I am is based on the foundation that I set three years ago. And I really want you to get this, because if you don't, you may struggle. But before I tell you what's next, I need to go ahead and book my Uber because the Uber is nine minutes away. I'm gonna be getting to the airport around 4:32 if I book it right now. So actually, let me, give me, give me another five minutes before I book it. And it's funny, I'm keeping it really transparent with you guys today on this episode, because here's the truth. It's almost four o'clock in the morning. Like I said, I haven't slept yet. And I must, must record this episode before I book my flight and put it out to you guys. Because I made a commitment every Monday, Wednesday and Friday that I would record a podcast and put it out to you guys every Monday, Wednesday, Friday. And that is my commitment to you. And I created this, I would say, routine and schedule because my favorite podcast, group Chat, which is hosted by my buddy Drama, who I just had an event with, young and Reckless, Build you'd Empire, as well as Demurthy and Anand Murthy, they run that podcast and they put out an episode every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. So therefore, I do as well. That's how I thought of that. But just before I let you go on this beautiful Wednesday, I want you to really take a moment to reflect. Whether that's right now or after this podcast, reflect on how you're treating the people closest to in your life. Are you texting your mom or your dad or your brothers every single day? It literally takes two seconds to text someone. Let someone know you're thinking about them. Let someone know you're grateful for them. Because if you don't, it's those little things that are reflection of you. You know, we always hear that thing in, that quote, treat people how you want to be treated. But I can guarantee it, if you have someone in your life that can constantly reminds you that they're grateful for you, you therefore become more attached to them mentally. And here's what I've learned about relationships. It's the touch points that matter. Whether that's sending a gift, whether that's sending a dm, whether that's just checking in on someone for no reason and giving them a call. Those are the things that people remember. And here's my challenge to you on this beautiful Wednesday. Take a moment after this podcast, or right now, whatever you feel is right, and send somebody in your life that you know you're grateful for, but you may not have been communicating with them recently, or you know you haven't talked to them enough, or you have something to get off your chest. Whatever it is, reach out to that one person and tell them you're grateful for them. Let them know you're thinking about them. Because it's the people in your life that you're constantly reminded about that you're constantly communicating with that are the people that therefore mean the most to you. Right? Just think about it. Who do you talk to the most in your life? Is it your spouse? Is it your business partners? Is it your family members? Is it a random person on Instagram? Chances are, the people that you speak with the most and communicate with the most are the people closest to you in your life. And the people closest to you in your life, actually, I hope, genuinely care about you and they will help you no matter what, as much as they can. And that's what I've realized recently and over these last 10 months of just living on my own, meeting different people, having different events, is the people you communicate with the most are the people you build better relationships with. And I'm saying this from a business perspective, if you meet someone, you talk to them for two minutes, and then you don't talk to them for two years, chances are you guys do not have a strong relationship, but you meet someone at an event, you speak to them for 20 minutes, you follow up with them in the next two days, you hop on another phone, call with them, you talk to them for an hour or maybe two hours if the conversation gets real, or maybe it's 20 minutes again. And then you do that every week, or maybe it's every month, but. But you're constantly communicating with that person. I can guarantee you your relationships will be so much better in your life. But I want you to take this back to ground zero. Take a moment right after this podcast and send a message. And here's the catch. And if you already sent a message, send another one. Here is the catch. I want you to send a video message on your phone to that person. Don't send a normal text message, don't send a voice message Take out your phone, click the record button and open up the video portion on your phone. Record a video so that they can see you, they can feel you, they can overall sense your facial, I would say, the way you smile or speak to them or whatever it is. Send someone a video message, not a text message and let them know that you care about them. Whether that's 20 seconds, five seconds or a minute and a half. Send someone a video message and let me know what that meant to you. And that being said, it is time. I am going to book my Uber right now to the airport because it's 3:56am, it's a 30 minute ride, I'll be getting there at 4:30 and then I have a, I think it's a two and a half hour flight or two hour flight from Phoenix to Houston. So real quick, let me click confirm pickup as I wait for my Uber. It's funny, I was chatting with someone today and we were talking about Uber and smartphones and just if I didn't have it or if you didn't have your phone, what would happen? You couldn't book an Uber at 3:57am and go to the airport. Yes, you could drive, but. But what if you don't want to bring your car out to the airport? Just the little things in life such as booking an Uber as I'm recording a podcast and the fact that a car will be outside in six minutes to drive me to the airport to take me back home to Virginia is mind boggling to me. And it's the current reality. But I want you to just be grateful for the opportunities in front of you for the current marketplace we live in, for the current just everything that is going well in your life. Stop thinking negative. Stop pointing to the negative in your life. Be positive. Think positive and be grateful for the people you love because those who love you are the people who are grateful for you as well. Whoo. I'm getting excited. Literally it's four in the morning, I have not slept yet, I haven't drank coffee and I'm just fired up. And this is the energy I want you to carry throughout your day because literally, here's the truth. I accidentally booked an Uber before this episode and it was. And I literally didn't mean to book the Uber because I knew I had another 15 minutes or so to record this and I canceled the Uber and I was like, alright, now I really got to deliver because I almost waited to record and post this episode until I got to Virginia, but that is not the case. I recorded it, I put it out, and that's that. So, that being said, I. I just want to say thank you so much for tuning into the Rise of the Young podcast today. Make sure you drop a review, a rating. Let's get to 1000 ratings on iTunes on the podcast app because the storyboard continues on the Instagram at Rise of the Young. Go check it out if you haven't already. Make sure you listen to the podcast I did with Ishan and Karen titled the Truth About Huawei, and learn about my trip to China. That being said, screenshot the podcast right now and tag me on your Instagram story, because I will be reposting each and every single one of you. And that is how the word gets out about this podcast. We've been a top 200 business podcast for the last six months, and I could have not done it without you. So thank you so much for listening. I gotta catch this Uber. I gotta catch this flight. I'm heading back to the east coast, heading back to Virginia for two weeks. So if you're anywhere on the east coast, let me know. That being said, have a phenomenal day, tell someone you're grateful for them, send a video message, and I will talk to you soon. Peace.
