What's going on, everyone? Casey Adams here. Welcome to episode four of the Rise of the Young podcast. Today I'm going to be talking networking on social media and how you can start getting in contact with the right people that are either in your niche or just people you want to connect with so that you can build a relationship with them. So that being said, let's go ahead and jump right into the episode. So I get a lot of questions on social media all the time, like, Casey, how are you connecting with this person? How did you get to meet Tai Lopez? How are you able to meet all these people that you're networking with and all that sort of stuff. And the one thing that I, a lot of people don't realize is that it just didn't happen overnight. I know a lot of people, they'll see pictures on Instagram with people or like, hey, you met that guy, you met that guy. But it was a process that I'm about to be breaking down to you guys on this episode of the Rise of the Young podcast. So make sure you stay tuned. So I'm gonna be talking about three key tips about how you can network better on social media and then how to actually do it correctly so that once you're connecting with people and it's not just a one time and done type of thing, but you can actually build a relationship with the people that you want to build them with. So step one, a lot of people on social media. I know I talked about personal branding in episode two of the Rise of the Young Podcast. But step one, make sure that you're implementing what I talked about on episode two into your personal brand. Because once you're actually building your personal brand, you have a presence on social media. It's a lot easier to get in contact with the right people due to the fact that, that you already have an established brand. They can go to your page and people can see what you do, who you are and what your values are or what you're doing, so that it's more likely for them to get back in touch with you. So that's number one, is just make sure that you're building your personal brand. If you haven't already checked out episode two of the Rise of the Young podcast, make sure you check it out. It's on my itunes, it's on my SoundCloud. So go check it out and you can learn more about what I talked about inside of that episode. But moving forward, another key tip about networking on social media is very, very simple. And then it comes down to actually doing the work. I know a lot of people say, or people that have come to my events, whether it be in Chicago, New York or Las Vegas or la, every time I do a speech, I always talk about the power of sending a DM on Instagram because this is the main, main reason how I've been able to get so many opportunities, how I've been able to network and meet all these people, such as Tai Lopez, Caleb Maddox, Gerard Adams, Peter Voog, all these guys, even all of Team Jet Set, it all started with a dm. So a little bit more in depth about sending a DM on Instagram. I know a lot of people will reach out to me on Instagram. They'll say, hey, how's it going inside of my DMs? But a key tip, and I know Caleb Maddox will back me up on this, if you mention somebody in your Instagram story and you tag them in it, they're way more likely to see and respond to your direct messages. And due to the fact that it's just something that it stands out from someone else, just sending a normal direct message. So therefore, if you're trying to get in contact with someone on Instagram, try talking about that key individual on your Instagram story. Give key points about what kind of value they've added to you, give key points about how they've impacted your life, and then tag them on your Instagram story, because that will maybe be the reason that they get in contact you and get back to you on social media. So another key Point. And another reason that I say send direct messages is because it's very powerful, but you have to do it correctly. So the correct way to send a dm, and this is just something coming from my prior experience to getting DMs back from very powerful people and then using that DM to then get a meeting. So whenever you're sending a DM to someone, it's not just a simple direct message like, hey, Tai Lopez, how are you doing? You have to be very meaningful with what you're sending in the direct messages because that three to five to 10 seconds that they're reading your message, they're gonna either choose to respond back to you, close the DM or ask you a question. So like for example, whenever I'm reaching out to someone with importance, I like to do a three sentence summary of what I'm doing, how I wanna add value to them and how they've impacted me. So for example, I'll say, hey, my name is Casey Adams, I'm a 17 year old entrepreneur, I've been following you, Ty, for X amount of months and you've taught me, blah, blah, blah, right? So I'm telling them what I've learned, I'm telling them who I am, what I do. And the last sentence I will say, I would love to hop on a call with you, or I'd love to meet you in person one day, or I'd love to get you on my podcast, something that is a call to action that's leading them into the next step forward with you. Because a lot of people on social media, they'll send direct messages, but they don't have a call to action in the message so that people are left behind and they're not gonna be more likely to get in touch with you. So that being said, if you're trying to get in touch with someone through the direct messages and you haven't had consistency and you haven't had results with it, make sure that you're number one, establishing your personal brand and number two, reaching out to somebody with my three step formula, which is very, very simple. Make sure that you're sending direct messages with a purpose. You have your three sentence structure so that you're telling them who you are, what you do, how they've added value to you and then what you want to get from them or what you want to give to them. Because it all comes down to what value are you adding to that direct message? Is it not just you saying, hey Ty, thanks so much for everything, but having a clear Purpose, because people that have millions of followers or have thousands of followers, they get a lot of direct messages. So if you're not clear and concise about what you're trying to get from it or how you're trying to help them, it's gonna be super hard to actually get that quality direct message back. So that's step two. I hope you guys got some value from that moving forward. The next thing, very, very simple, and it's definitely easier said than done, is consistency. I know a lot of people that have come to my masterminds that ask me, yo, how'd you get in touch with this person? How did you meet this person? And I was like, a direct message. And then they say back, but I've DM this dude four times and he's never gotten back to me. And I think I'm getting annoying now. And that's one thing that, if you're listening to this right now, get that mental framework out of your brain right now. You cannot be afraid to be consistent with your DMs because that's how you're actually going to get in touch with someone that you want to get in touch with. I remember sending DMs to Tai Lopez for the last year, year and a half about, just like saying, hey, thanks, Ty, this book was amazing. Hey, Ty, I'd love to chat with you. Hey, Ty, you've helped me so much. I sent him over like 100 DM's with him never seeing them. And then the one time that I applied this little three sentence formula, I came to his DMs with a quality purpose and it was the right time and the right reason. Tai Lopez ended up flying me out to la. I was in his videos, I was in his entire courses. And that was a huge turning point for me. But the thing about that, what I just said, is that you have to be consistent with the direct messages you send, because if you aren't, you're gonna have a lot less likely chance of actually getting in touch with these people. So moving on to the next thing, it's very, very important. This is something, this is an actionable step for you right now. I want you to send 10 direct messages a day to 10 different people and do that within a 10 day period. Right now, make sure you write this down. Send 10 direct messages a day to 10 people with a quality direct message with people who you want to get in contact with or you want to add value to. And then I want you guys to send me a direct message on Instagram aceadams1 and let me know the results you've had in the last 10 days of doing that. Because I know when I started doing that. Yes, some people aren't going to get back to you, but the people that do those are the people that you will build a genuine relationship with for the long term. Because you didn't just send them a direct message asking for something, you didn't just send them a direct message saying, hey, I love your stuff. You're doing it with a quality purpose, using the three sentences that I told you about and actually doing it with a purpose. So that being said, step one, I'll just kind of go over this real quick. Make sure that you're building your personal brand on social media. If you want more insights and quality tips on that, go check out episode two of the Rise of the Young podcast as well as step two, make sure that you're sending direct messages with a purpose. Go through that three sentence structure, making sure that you're doing it step by step. Step three, be consistent. If you're not being consistent with what you do with anything, especially sending direct messages to high quality people, you're not gonna get that much results. So that being said, make sure that you're sending direct messages on a daily basis to people you wanna get in contact with. Have a clear, concise purpose and let me know what happens within the next 10, 15, 20 days. Because once you start implementing that and actually getting quality responses, you're gonna be like, wow, it's not as hard as it seems, it's very simple, but you have to apply what's actually going to work and that is the consistency of it. So that being said, this is a quick episode on the Rise of the Young podcast. I wanted to talk about the power of a direct message on social media and how to network. On the next episode of the Rise of the Young podcast, I'm going to be going over a lot of different key insights on social media tactics, about social media growth, how to really establish yourself and stand out from the crowd. But that being said, make sure you subscribe to the Rise of the Young podcast. I'm going to be giving away a lot of stuff very, very soon, so make sure you stay tuned. But on the other side of things, I will see you on the next episode. Peace.
