What's going on, everyone? Casey Adams here. Welcome to the Rise of the Young podcast. Today I'm gonna be doing something different than the last episodes and that is a storytelling podcast about how Tai Lopez flew me out to his mansion in Beverly Hills at 16 years old. Because I got a lot of DMs on social media, especially Instagram, asking me, yo, like, how did you get Tai Lopez to fly you out to la? Like, people just didn't know the whole story behind it. They didn't know the reasoning behind it. So since I just opened this podcast, I thought it would be good to tell my story about how I made that happen and in my life and how you can even do that too when it comes to getting in contact with the right people to then get new opportunities. So therefore, let's go ahead and get started. So it's a pretty funny story. So when I was 15 years old, that's kind of when I started my entrepreneurship journey. I was in a neck brace for 20 weeks and I was almost paralyzed due to a football injury. I'm gonna be having another episode on my story in depth. But the reason how Tai Lopez flew me out, it wasn't just an overnight thing. It wasn't just a one single dm and he flew me out. It was a process that I had to go through to get to that point. So when I turned 15, this is when I kind of started my entrepreneurship journey. I started selling wristbands at school. Rise of the Young wristbands to be exact. And then I started to do a lot of digital marketing inside of 2016. Around August and September, I did a Lot of affiliate marketing. I had my own Snapchat program that I was teaching people how I was able to build my Snapchat to thousands of followers and then how I was able to monetize that through doing affiliate products. So I started doing that. And this is before I even tried to get in contact with Tai Lopez, but I've been following him for a year now. I was always just following his content. I was joining his 67 step program and all of his programs. And he was a huge turning point in my life when it comes to personal development and self education. He's always just been there for me when it comes to a mentor to look at and someone to follow to. So, I mean, shout out to Ty if he's listening to this. But this is a whole crazy story about how I literally just started online marketing around September and August, around 2016, I started building my personal brand. I probably had around 20,000 followers at the time on Instagram. And my whole goal coming in 2017 was to build my personal brand, massively build my relationships, grow my network. And this is now recording on Christmas Eve of 2017. And I can gladly say that I've been able to do that. But it wasn't just about a year from now. It was around, let's say, September, like I just said of 2016. And I got in contact with my boy, Caleb Maddox. And I know I interviewed Caleb Maddox on the third episode of the Rise of the Young podcast. So if you want to know more about Caleb, make sure you go listen to that. But I was getting in contact with Caleb Maddox on Instagram around this time last year. Coming into September, October, November, me and Caleb Maddox were building a relationship. I started following all of his content. And it was funny because in around November of 2016, I reached out to a ton and ton of local news stations in my local area. And I got on One news station, ABC, Channel 8 News, they did an interview on me. They did an interview about how I've been able to grow my brand, what I'm doing, how I was able to use social media at a young age. And it was funny. And this is, guys, this is all about positioning. And I'm going to be making sure I do a whole episode on positioning. But while in this interview with abc, I give a huge shout out to Caleb Maddox for being a mentor to me. I gave a huge shout out to Caleb for just teaching me a lot about like personal branding on social media, like actually taking action in a sense. So I gave Caleb Maddox a big shout out on tv. And this is around November, like I said. And this is where karma plays in, guys. I got invited to a speaking event in San Diego, California of January 2017. And this was an invitation from Caleb Maddox. He's like, yo, I like what you've been doing for the past couple of months. I'd love for you to come out to San Diego and speak on stage with a. A bunch of awesome people. And this is literally before I started traveling at all. I've never been to California before prior to this event. And I literally booked a plane ticket for my dad and I. This was not a paid speaking gig. I went out there because I saw opportunity, so I just instantly took action, made it happen. I booked a flight for me and my dad to San Diego, California. And it was funny because on my plane ride over to San Diego, I remember sitting in the plane and I was like, damn, like, what am I going to talk about at this event? Like, there's literally going to be millionaires, billionaires at this event. The former CEO of Warren Buffett was there. I got to meet him, which was super cool. But it was an amazing experience that literally changed the entire direction of my life. So back to the initial story leading more up to how I got Tai Lopez to fly me out. So I went to this. Not Tai Lopez conference, but I went to this event in San Diego, California, called the Epic Mastermind Experience. That's the event I was able to meet people like Gerard Adams, Dan Fleshman, Jeremy Haynes, Joshua Earp, all these guys. I met Caleb Maddox in person. All these amazing people that I've been able to build relationships with now. But it was at this event that I kind of was able to really build my network. And this is what literally was the catalyst to then send a direct message to Tai Lopez and really how this opportunity came about. So this event, it was three days, January 13th to January 16th, and I went to San Diego. I didn't expect anything to come from it prior to the event, but this is the thing that I literally cannot get. It's crazy how it happened. So the day I get back from San Diego, I'm blown away. The trip to California was amazing, and I was so pumped up. I get home, literally the night of the day, I get home, I send a random direct message to Tai Lopez. But prior to that, I know I talked about in my last podcast how I've been sending out direct messages to Tai Lopez for a while now, but I sent Ty a direct message on Instagram saying, hey, Ty, you've impacted my life so much over the last year and a half. You've taught me so much when it comes to personal development. I recently got back from San Diego. I spoke on stage with xyz. I named a few people that I spoke with. And then I was like, thanks so much, Ty. I'd love to stay connected with you. And this is the moment that I really had to capitalize. And then Ty said, what do you do, man? And this was a question I know I talked about in the last episode. How to get someone to question you inside the direct messages so you can keep the conversation going. So Ty said, hey, man, what do you do? And this is when I was like, whoa, this is opportunity to really tell my story very thoroughly so that he can really understand who I am. Because it was all about first impression. So I told him, yeah, Ty, when I was 15 years old, I was almost paralyzed due to a football accident. I got into personal development. I got into your 67 step course, and you were the huge decision making in my life that led me into what I am doing today. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I just did a little short paragraph about how he's impacted my life, about what he's done to my life to actually get me these new opportunities. And then he was like, another question. He said, how are you almost paralyzed? And then I told him my story about getting injured at football, the negative impact it had on me, and how I was able start making money now due to the fact that I've learned a lot of stuff in his courses. And then that was the opportunity when Ty said, hey, you should come to LA and shoot a video with me. And this is the crazy part. Like, I literally got back from this event, San Diego, California, the day of, I sent Tai a direct message randomly. And that same within five minutes, Ty said, here's my number. I want you to fly to la, shoot a video with me. And literally I remember sitting upstairs in my room and I was blown away. I didn't think it was a real thing that was about to happen. But the then, next thing you know, a day later, his team reaches out to me. They say, hey, what days are you available to fly out to la? And it was just a crazy experience coming from someone that lives in a small town in Virginia, not knowing what was going to come from this event that I literally spent a lot of money to go to in San Diego. And literally, like I said, the day of I get home, this opportunity comes up, I get in contact with Tai Lopez, and it was just a Crazy experience that literally changed the whole direction of my life. But it's funny, because I know I talked about in the last episode the power of a drive direct message. And this is literally like a clean example about how effective and how you need to really be sending direct messages to people. Because if I wouldn't have sent that direct message to Tai Lopez at the right time for the right reason, I don't think that would have ever happened. That same opportunity of flying to his house, meeting a mentor of mine, now, Jaden Gross, that's where I met him, at Ty's house. We shot a lot of videos for his social media marketing course. It was just an amazing experience. I met the team. I was able to really learn so much about how he works inside of his company, how the whole team structure worked, and it was just super dope to go out there and really get that entire experience. So, I mean, that being said, it was just. That's the kind of the little story about how I was able to get in touch with Tai Lopez when I was 16, sending a direct message. And I know that when it comes to personal branding, that was a huge thing for me when it comes to helping grow my personal brand. I know Tai Lopez, like, shouted me out on his story twice, and I was able to grow a lot of followers, but it really just all plays hand in hand about sending direct messages, about building your personal brand, about getting new opportunities. Everything plays hand in hand once you start allocating and putting time into each of them. So for everyone listening right now, whether it be you're just starting your personal brand or you want to get in contact with the right people or whoever it may be making sure that you grow in your personal brand and you're doing it in an effective way by actually showing people what you're doing. Not actually just what you think about doing, but show them the process. Show them what you're gonna be doing, tell them why you're going to do it, because everything has a why. And I remember telling Tai Lopez my why inside of the dm, saying, I'm doing this for my family. This is why I want to do it. You've taught me so much, blah, blah, blah. And it was just a crazy experience about how that literally opened up my doors. So many doors coming into 2017, literally prior to that experience about going to Tai Lopez's house, I went to LA every single month for the past eight months in 2017. And you got to remember, this is me, Casey Adams, coming from a small town in Richmond, Virginia, and this was just a crazy, mind blowing experience that I was able to meet a ton of people at Tai Lopez's house. I was able to start growing my network in LA and shout out to Jayden Gross if you're listening to this. But he opened so many doors for me. He was able to mentor me, teach me so many valuable tactics, and I cannot thank him enough for that. But when it comes to the actual experience about how that happened, I know it's like I said, easier said than done. I didn't expect it to happen. But you have to be very optimistic about what opportunities are literally waiting in front of you inside the direct messages on Instagram, because you never know until you start taking action on sending people direct messages, on actually taking the time to send a direct message to somebody of importance that has opportunities available to them, especially for the people that have helped you. I know a lot of people. The people that have sent me direct messages that tell me how I've been able to help them, or how I've been able to help them write a book, or how I've been able to help them overcome a negative situation, those are the people that I really relate to that I want to provide massive value to due to the fact that they're taking the time to send me a quality direct message. And the same goes for people like Tai Lopez or Gary Vaynerchuk or whoever else you're trying to get in touch with. It all comes down to the genuine relationship you want to build with them and really having a genuine message to them in a short way so that they understand you, they understand your story, and then how that overall can help play an effect into where that conversation goes. So, that being said, a few key points that I want to touch on is that I was able to leverage my story to get in touch with Ty. I was able to leverage my opportunity about speaking at this event with amazing people. And it literally came from, prior to that, building my personal brand over time and actually having something to talk about. I know a lot of people are getting stuck with their personal brand, growing content creation, whatever it may be. Definitely stay tuned on the Rise of the Young podcast, because I'm going to be talking a lot about social media, marketing, branding, a lot of things, how to grow your social media following. But that being said, that is the story. That's the rundown about how I got Tai Lopez to fly me out to LA at 16 years old. And like I said, guys, nothing's going to happen exactly how you want it to happen. Like people Always ask me like, yo, like, if you want that same opportunity, it's not gonna be the same exact thing. You send a direct message, tell them this, tell them that. But it all comes down to the way that you're going to do it. But my whole thing is be very consistent with sending people direct messages, like I always say, because it can literally change your life, the opportunities, the connections, the network, whatever it may be. So make sure I want you guys to take one valuable thing from this episode and that never think that something is impossible due to the fact that it hasn't happened yet, but be very optimistic about why it should happen to you and how it's going to happen to you, and then take the necessary action. Following up to where you want to go, whether that be meeting someone, whether that be building the relationships with somebody, whatever it may be, making sure that you're actually executing on what you want to do is by far the most critical thing you could ever do when it comes to growing your business, growing your brand, growing your network, whatever it may be. But that being said, thank you so much for tuning in to the Rise of the Young podcast. Remember, this is episode five of the Rise of the Young podcast. We're going to be having hundreds of episodes, interviews, amazing conversations with amazing people coming soon. So I'd appreciate it if you could subscribe to this podcast, leave a review an honest review about what you think I should talk about. Let me know what you think about what I've been talking about. Let me know the tips and tricks that you've been able to gain from this podcast. But that being said, thank you so much much for tuning in and I will see you on the next episode.
