What's going on, everyone? Casey Adams here. Welcome to the Rise of the Young podcast. And this is episode six. And today we're going to be talking about the power of a negative situation and a little bit about my story, how I was able to break through from facing a negative situation, as well as how you can do the same. And I always get a lot of questions and a lot of people ask me, how do you overcome negativity in my life? Because for all the new listeners right now, when I was 15 years old, I've been an athlete my entire life and something happened to me that I really got put into a negative situation and there was really nothing to do about it. And that was I was diagnosed with interspinous ligament damage due to a football injury, meaning I was in a neck brace for 20 weeks without being able to get out of it. I had to sleep in it. And it was such a negative standpoint in my life. And remember, I'm 15 years old and on the first day of hitting practice while I was playing football, this event happened to me. I had to go to. I was rushed to the doctors. And it was something that completely transformed my life due to the fact that I was never able to play football again. And this big transformation in my life was very, very sudden that I really didn't know how to take it at first. Remember, I was 15 years old, I was an athlete. I was super pumped up for the season that was coming and I really did not know what to do from this point on. But that's when I found a mentor online. That's when I was able to Build myself out of this negative situation by finding mentors. And I'm going to talk to you a little bit more about the negative situation itself. And you can really power through negative situations, whether that be an injury like me, or whether that be just financially. Whatever negative situation you're in, I think it really determines on the character that you have and how you actually want to face it. Because I see a lot of people, they'll be negative just because they want to be negative. A lot of people let negativity rule them. By them focusing on the negativity instead of focusing on the things that they want to accomplish and the things that they need to get done, a lot of people tend to focus on the things that are holding them back. They're focusing on things that they're saying, oh, I can't do this because of this reason. And one more thing for all the people listening, if you're focusing on the negativity, you're never going to be breaking through where you are today. You have to be optimistic about where you're going. You have to set definite goals and definite decisions on a daily basis unless you want to remain in the same place in which you're at right now. So moving forward. The negative situation in my life played a dramatic role on where I am today due to the fact that it made me realize and understand where I was at in my life. I wanted to take it and how I was gonna get there. Because I think a lot of people will get stuck in the mindset of saying to themselves they can't do something because someone else said they didn't. And I know I have a lot of young listeners, I know I have a lot of other people that are super successful that listen to this as well. And I know a lot of people can agree with me on this, is that the mindset is very, very powerful. And whatever you're focusing on does dictate where you're gonna end up. So let's say you, whether you wanna start a business, whether that be you wanna go to the gym every day, whatever you want to do, if you're focus why you can't do something, you're never gonna be actually able to do it due to the fact that your mindset needs to be adjusted to what you need to focus on. And I know a lot of people, whether that be friends, family members, they try to bring you down and they don't even do it consciously. It's more of a subconscious thing where they're gonna be telling you, oh, that's Impossible. That's too hard. You can't do that. And the number one thing for me, and it's kind of funny that I'm bringing this up, is that you must just block out every single person in your life, mentally, that is bringing you, yes, your family, your friends, whoever it may be. You can't just kick them out of your life, especially if you're young, still living at home, or whatever it may be. But mentally block them out so that you can focus on what you need to focus on, and then that's how you're going to be able to get the results you want. That's how you're going to be able to level up your game. But overall, I think a lot of people focus on negativity. And the three tips that I'm going to be giving you on this podcast are very, very simple. And once you implement them, that's when you're going to see a breakthrough. That's when you're going to see, wow, this was all on me. So, number one, people tend to blame others for why they aren't where they are due to the fact that they're not confident in their selves. And what I mean by that is a lot of people say, oh, I'm not where I want to be because of this person or because of that circumstance. And if you're in that mindset right now saying and blaming other people for the reasons why you're not somewhere, you just need to cut that shit out real quick and really focus on where you are right now and, and really map out a game plan, an execution plan, to figure out where you want to go, how you're going to do it, and write down daily goals and execute on them. Because for me, that's how I've been able to, whether it be write a book, build my connections, grow my company, whatever it is, making sure that you're executing on a daily basis and actually keeping track of what you want to accomplish. That's the only definite way that you'll be able to map your roadmap to get to where you want to go. Instead, people like to blame other circumstances. Instead, people like to blame other people on the reasons why they're not where they want to be. So if that's you, make sure that you take a note right now and tell yourself that you're not going to be blaming others for where you want to go or where you want to get to, because literally, that's the most detrimental thing you can literally focus on right now, especially in this day and age, with all the opportunities that are out there, with all the just abundance of things that are waiting for you to accomplish. But moving on to the second thing about facing negativity, I would say a lot of people get stuck the past. And what I mean by that is a lot of people say that they want to get something done, but they have. They always reminisce in the past. They always break down and say, hey, I couldn't do it in the past, so therefore, I'm not gonna try moving forward. And I feel like a lot of people really need to just refocus and regroup mentally when it comes to not focusing on the past, not dwelling on what you've done in the past, dwelling on your mistakes, dwelling on everything, you must focus on today than now, because that's all you literally have. And I remember one of my mentors, Jaden Gross, tells me, the present is creating the future. And if you're not creating now, it's gonna be impossible to create in the future. So therefore, whatever thing you want to do, whatever thing you want to start, start right now, today. And it's literally today's Christmas Eve, the day I'm recording this. And I posted on my Instagram the other day saying, what's your thoughts on New Year's resolutions? And I think a lot of people that are in the comments section very took it. Some people say I didn't. I don't believe in them. Some people say I love them. And for me, in my personal opinion, I think a New Year's resolution is the worst thing that the humans created, because so many people will wait to do something when they could literally do it today, right now, and there's nothing holding them back except themselves. And if you allow yourself to get held back due to the fact that you don't want to do something right now or that you're not wanting to do it right now, that's literally going to be so effective and not allow you to level up. So when it comes to a New Year's resolution or when it comes to executing, focus on what you have to do today to get to where you want to go, because that's how you'll be able to block out the negativity. Whether that be people, whether that be friends, family, whatever it is, the negativity in your life can simply be blocked out by daily execution. Because once you get in a rhythm of progress and momentum, that's when positive things start to happen. That's when positive emotions start to pour out. When you actually get those little accomplishments. So I would definitely say, wherever you are at right now, focus on the now and execute. I read a good book once. It was called A Happy Pocket Full of Money. One of my business partners recommended it to me. So if you want to check that out, definitely, I would highly recommend it. But moving on to step three about how to overcome negativity, I think it really just comes down to the process itself. I know a lot of people, especially Gary Vee, he always talks about. It's about the journey. The journey is everything, in a sense. And if you're in a negative standpoint, you got to understand that that's not the end point, but that's the now. And in order to get out of the now, you have to create a positive now. So what I mean by that, that probably sounded confusing, that you. If you're in a negative standpoint, you have the power to instantly switch your negative thoughts to thoughts of gratefulness, to thoughts of feeling blessed, because you're simply listening to this podcast and you have the audacity to do something to get you out of that negative standpoint. So. So I think it really just comes down to the mental frameworks, and this really goes for everything. Whatever situation you're going through, I think you have 100% absolute power of it. And if you aren't dictating where your emotions are going, that's how people get in a rut. That's how people don't level up because they're letting outside circumstances determine where they're heading. So, that being said simply, if you want to get out of your negative situation, making sure that you're controlling your thoughts, controlling your actions, and actually executing on what you say you're going to do is by far gonna be the most benefiting thing that you can do moving forward. But for all the people listening right now, let's say you are in a negative situation. Hit me up on Instagram. Caseyadams1, send me over your situation, because I know everyone's situationing that's listening right now is completely different. And you may say, hey, but, Casey, this is what's happening in my life. So if you have a situation that you'd want me to listen to, make sure that you hit me up on Instagram, send me a direct message saying that you came from my podcast, and I will gladly send you a video back. I will gladly hop on a phone call with you to see what you're going through, to see how I can help you in any sense. But other than that, I would say that the majority of people listening to this making sure that you execute on a daily basis and actually write down what you want to accomplish. Therefore execution will literally turn your negative situation to progress, and progress will turn you into a positive individual due to the fact that you're able to keep leveling up, keep on accomplishing certain things. So that being said, this was just a short intro of Overcoming Negativity. I'm gonna be releasing a very in depth podcast about my story as well as if you want me to talk about certain topics on my podcast, send me a Message on Instagram ac1. And then for everyone listening right now, please leave a review an honest review on this podcast as well as subscribe to the podcast. Because this is only episode six, but we're gonna be having hundreds of episodes coming out soon so that I will see you on the next episode. Thanks so much for tuning in.
