What's going on, everyone? Casey Adams here. Welcome to episode 12 of the Rise of the Young podcast. Today we're going to be talking about something I'm super interested in and that is why you need to travel. I get a lot of questions asking me about the different places I've traveled, the things I've been able to do, and the one thing I want to talk to you guys today is about the power of traveling. And what I mean by traveling is you necessarily don't have to travel all over your country, you don't have to travel around the world, but even traveling locally. And today I'm going to be breaking down the benefits of traveling, what it's done for me, how it's opened up new opportunities, as well as how some travel hacks that I think would benefit you. So that being said, let's go ahead and get right into the show. So, number one, the thing about traveling for me is that it opens up new belief levels every time I went to a new place. It's just that it's like opening a present on Christmas. You don't know where you're gonna go, you don't know what you're gonna get, you don't know what you're gonna experience. And that's the stuff that has led me to meeting the new people, to getting the new experiences, to growing my brand, to capitalizing on the new opportunities that come about. And what I mean by traveling necessarily, because this podcast is about business, is about marketing, is about networking. This is the Rise of the Young Podcast. And coming from someone like me, Casey Adams, who's 17 years old, I remember traveling my first time to a networking event in Richmond, Virginia, where I'm from. And this wasn't something that was across the world. I didn't book flights. This was literally my first time traveling to a networking event. It was a real estate event called Fortune Builders. And I remember at this event I met the most amazing people. I met people that were doing real estate. And at the time I was like 14, 15. And it was crazy to me because all of these people that were talking business, I didn't know anything about what they were talking about. But then again, I remember one of the quotes that someone told me is that you always want to be the dumbest person in the room. And it was funny because this was when I felt the dumbest person in the room, because the fact that I was the youngest in the room. I didn't know about real estate, I didn't know about business. I didn't know about marketing at the time. But then as I grew, as I traveled to more of events locally, it opened up my horizons of what I wanted to do, how I wanted to do it, and it just overall taught me so many valuable lessons that I wouldn't have gotten anywhere else. And I get a lot of questions like, yeah, I want to travel, but I don't have the money. And this is the thing, guys. Don't focus on traveling nationwide. Focus on county wide, focus on in your city. There's definitely a lot of networking events that are near you that opens up opportunities for you, that helps you meet people. And that's the thing about traveling. Whether I go to la, whether I go to Chicago or Vegas, wherever I go, there's always new people that you need to meet. But the same goes with traveling locally. There's that someone at Starbucks that has a great story that if you say, hey, what's up? It may open up new opportunities for you, but you're scared to ask them. And that's the thing that's holding you back. If you aren't afraid to ask questions to people you meet in new locations, so many opportunities will start coming up. I remember I was in la, I was charging my phone at a Starbucks, and I was in LA by myself. And this guy, I said, hey, man, how's it going? And we just started talking. It turns out he was the head CEO of, of a AR company, augmented reality, that does $50 million a year. I got his business card and we've stayed connected since then. And it was Literally a second, a moment, I said, what if I don't do this? Should I ask him, hey, what's up? Because he sounded interesting. He was on a phone call, he was talking about some augmented reality stuff. And at first I was scared to ask him a question, but then again, I knew the opportunity was there. So I reached out to him, I said, what's up, man? And literally, I want you guys to start doing this wherever you are at, whether it be in a small town in Virginia like me, whether that be you're in a big city, in la, travel locally, meet people, build relationships in your local area, because that's how you'll be able to capitalize on your traveling experiences. But then again, I know for me, coming from a small town in Virginia, the biggest thing that opened up my horizon was going to San Diego to going to la, going to Vegas, Chicago, all these different big cities. And yes, that's when money is involved, Traveling, doing all this sort of stuff. But it comes down to, do you really want it? If you want to get new opportunities, if you want to get new experiences, you got to work your ass off. You got to make that shit happen. And the thing about making it happen is that you have to rely on only yourself. The thing about traveling, if you're young and you're listening to this, I had the biggest opportunity to go to a speaking event, but my parents said, hey, you're not going to go because you're only 16. And if you're listening right now and you're getting the same type of things, like, oh, my God, you're only 14, 15, 16, 17, whatever it may be, you have to really focus on where you want to go, explain yourself to people. And it's funny, I always get a lot of questions like, Yo, I'm 15, 16. My parents say I can't travel, or how do you get to travel? So I'm going to be making another episode on how I got myself to Travel alone at 16, 17. But it really just comes down to your parents. But back into the next topic. Why you need to travel is really, really simple. And that is that things will never be the same. So if someone introduced to an opportunity and they wanted you to go somewhere to an event, things will never be the same in your life. And you must capitalize on that opportunity, on that travel experience, because you may have never been able to meet that one person that would become your business partner. You would have never been able to meet that next person that would open up new opportunities for you. And for me, Traveling was a huge part of growing my brand because I was able to meet tons and tons of people, new opportunities came up, new business ventures came up, and those were one time opportunities that if I didn't take the opportunity, didn't take the initiative to spend my money to travel to get these experiences, I wouldn't have met all of the people that are now in my network. And that's the thing that I really want you to take away from this podcast episode. Is that why you need to travel? It comes down to one simple thing and that things will never be the same as they are today. And if you start experiencing different things today, new opportunities will come up. And like I said, you may be listening to this and you've made a hundred million dollars, you've made a million dollars, you've made a couple hundred thousand dollars and you can travel internationally, you can travel worldwide. I've had the privilege and I've been so grateful to be able to travel to China. I've been in four cities all across Asia, Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'. An. And it was just amazing, amazing opportunities to see different culture, to see different experiences. And that's been able to help me remain humble, remain blessed. Based on I've been able to see poverty in different countries and just I know one of my good friends, Caleb Maddox, I know that I did a podcast interview on him. He's done over 57 mission trips in his life. He's been able to see the worst of the worst. He's been able to see the best of the best. And it's just given him perspective. So if you want to get perspective, you want to get new opportunities, you want to see the world differently, I highly recommend you to travel, whether that be going to a homeless shelter in your local city, whether that be just going to Starbucks and networking and asking questions to the people around you. If you want to get new opportunities, you have to put yourself in the position to and you need to travel. I know the general aspect of this podcast is very simple when I say why you need to travel, but it comes down to travel. Traveling locally, traveling within yourself. Honestly, if you're not traveling, you're not seeing things differently, you're not experiencing new things. You're gonna start to build a sculpture around yourself, you're gonna start to build a box around yourself that you're only really focusing on what you're doing now, not where you want to go. You have to remain optimistic, you have to remain experiencing new things. And if you don't experience new things regularly, you're gonna get comfortable and you have to start being comfortable. You have to start being uncomfortable with being comfortable. Because the biggest thing that I've been able to do when it comes to my breakthrough, every uncomfortable situation I was in, I pursued it with 150%. And what I mean by that is I remember the first time I was in San Diego and Gerard Adams, one of my huge mentors that I'll have on this podcast coming soon, he told he was on stage speaking and I was up next to speak after him. I was like, oh my God, I'm literally 16 years old. @ the time my first speaking event, I wasn't confident in what I wanted to talk about and I was super uncomfortable in the moment. And it was at that exact time that I really got this burst of energy and was like, wow, this is what it means to start getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. And you have to be in that same mindset regarding going up to that person at an event, to speaking out on stage, to building that brand, to getting your message out, start being comfortable with being uncomfortable and you will open up your horizons. And that comes to traveling within inside of yourself. That comes to traveling to new opportunities, to new events. It all comes down to why are you traveling and why you need to so that you can start being uncomfortable. Because that's how you're going to see massive changes. So that being said, here's a little travel tip that I've been able to very much use from building a brand on social media. And that is every single city I go to in the U.S. whether that be Vegas, Chicago, New York City, LA, San Diego, I've been able to build and network with people in all of these different cities. And this is very important for me when traveling that whenever I'm going to somewhere new or whenever I'm going to somewhere that I've never been before, but I've had built relationships out there. I'm able to contact people that they may have noticed my story and I'm able to meet up with these people that I've met on social media because I have a brand, they have a brand. And we say, hey, we're like minded. So that wherever I go, I have people to connect with already due to the fact that I've built my brand. And this is something very powerful that when it comes to building your brand on social media, if you're able to do it very effectively and you're consistent with it, people will start to ask you, hey, when you're in town, let's Meet up. And if you keep an inventory of people that want to meet up with you when you travel, that's how you're really able to open new doors, open new opportunities. Because once you do that, that's when people will start to know your name. That's when people will start to say, hey, come eat lunch with me on me. I want to know more about your story. And if you're able to position yourself on social media in a genuine way, people will want to bring you to dinner. People will be able to really reach out to you and say, hey, whenever you're traveling, if you're ever in Pittsburgh or if you're ever in San Diego, hit me up and let's go out to eat. And that's the benefit of traveling. If you're able to build a global or a national network on social media, why you need to travel is right in front of you. And that is meeting new people, getting new opportunities, and experiencing new things. And once you're able to do that, your network will grow, your business will grow, your experience will grow, and that's how you're going to level up as an individual. So, that being said, quick little three tips about why you need to travel. Number one, it'll open new opportunities. Number two, things will never be the exact same again in your life. So right now is what you need to focus on. And you need to focus on getting new opportunities, meeting new people, and capitalizing on it. And start being comfortable with being uncomfortable, because that's how you're going to grow as a person. So that being said, I hope you enjoyed this episode of the Rise of the Young podcast. This was episode 12 and we talked about the reasons you need to travel, whether it be locally, nationally, internationally, and why you need to build your brand, why you need to build a global network and national network, because that's how you're gonna get new opportunities. That's how you're gonna meet new people. And that's why traveling is. So that being said, thank you so much for tuning in to the Rise of the Young podcast.
