What's going on, everyone? Casey Adams here. Welcome to episode 35 of the Rise of the Young podcast. Today we're gonna be talking about my last couple of days. So this weekend I was in San Diego for the Epic Mastermind Experience. And it's kind of funny because literally this event is something special to me because the first event that I went to that I spoke at was the Epic Mastermind Experience in San Diego. And I just want to give you guys a brief story about how this event has impacted me, what I learned from this weekend, and I want to give you guys some practical advice that I took away from that I think can be valuable to you. So that being said, let's jump right into it. So before we get into what I learned this weekend at the Epic Mastermind Experience, I really just want to give you guys a brief overview of not just what I learned, but my story when it comes to this event. So, long story short, at the end of 2016, so about a year and a half ago, I was messaging my homie Caleb Maddox on Instagram. We were talking for a while. I've been following him for a while. And get this, this is before I had over 10,000 followers. I wasn't traveling nothing. So I got on an interview on ABC News in my local area. And this is all gonna play an effect about how I got into the event. But pretty much I mentioned Caleb Maddox inside of the interview on ABC Channel 8 news. I sent him the interview, he checked it out and he was like, yo, bro, you should come to San Diego to speak at the Epic Mastermind Experience. So this is literally January of 2017 on the 13th. I'm like, damn, I really want to go to this event. But I didn't know how I was gonna get there. So, like I said, long story short, I ended up booking tickets for me and my dad to go to the Epic Mastermind Experience. I had to pay for the flights, I had to pay for the hotel. And this wasn't something that I got paid to speak at. It was just an opportunity to go network, tell my story. And at the time, I was doing a lot of Snapchat marketing, and I didn't have my marketing agency, didn't have my book, didn't have my podcast, didn't have other things that I'm working on now. But it's funny because I really didn't know how much of that this event would pay off and kind of impact my life. So, like I said, I go to this event January 13th and the weekend of that, on the 2017 January. And it's kind of funny how it all played out, because at the event, I met amazing people like Caleb Maddox, Gerard Adams, Jeremy Haynes, Dan Fleshman, all these amazing guys. But it wasn't until I was able to really leverage the opportunity that I got from the event that I was able to really take massive leaps. So, pretty much the day I got home from the event, and I know I've touched on this story a little bit in my recent podcast, but pretty much the day I get home from this event, 2017, I send my man, Tai Lopez a direct message on Instagram, just letting him know that I was able to meet all of the people inside of his social media marketing agency course, and that it's been amazing to kind of go from being in my neck brace to almost being paralyzed, to then joining the 67 steps, getting into the social media marketing agency, executing on a lot of tactics, and then, of course, going to the event and meeting all the guys that I mentioned previously that were actually in his course. So I just sent Ty a direct message on Instagram, but a lot of people don't understand that. I already sent him many, many messages before, but he never got back to me. But this time it was different. He got back to me. He said, what were you doing at this event? What were you speaking about? What do you do? And he just started asking me questions. So it was during this time that me and Ty were chatting over DM that I literally just told him my story, and I let him know the value that he's added to me how I got to that event, why I spoke out of it, and all that sort of stuff. And he ended up flying me out to his house two weeks later. But really what I want to touch about on that story because it's insane for me to say even still to this day that the fact that I went to the Epic Mastermind Experience, the event in San Diego, has allowed me to meet so many amazing people and it was the catalyst for change. And I feel like a lot of people that are listening or that may already have success, they're looking for that pivoting point that will just take them to the next level, that will allow them to build their network, grow their business, whatever it may be, build their personal brand. There's always a time for change. And I feel like that change isn't something that you literally just think about and execute on. It's something of an experience that leads to change. And that's something I'm really gonna be going in depth is the factor of change and how that you listening right now might need that change to occur in your life to see exponential growth. So, like I said, I went to the Epic Mastermind experience in 2017. That was the first kind of event that I ever spoke at and really met a lot of core people. And the cool thing about this event is that there's not hundreds and hundreds of people there. It's kind of more a low key event and you're able to really build genuine relationships with other people, which I think is by far the most valuable thing you could do at these events. But the reason I'm talking about this entire story in general is because that is the event of 2017. That allowed me to meet Tai Lopez, that allowed me to meet my mentor, Jayden Gross, who I previously interviewed on this podcast. And just the trickling of momentum happened from that event. And I feel like if you're looking for momentum, stop writing it down on a piece of paper and kind of focusing on the momentum. Start doing things differently, start going to different events, start meeting new people, start. Because then the momentum will come naturally. You will start to see change naturally. And if you're looking for change and you're looking and seeking and just digging so deep, that may not be the best answer for you. But on the other hand, it might be. But from my experience, all I gotta say is that the more you do things differently, the more opportunities you get, because you never know who's going to be at the event or at a event that can change your Life. But like I said, that was the first event I went to in 2017. But the reason I want to talk about that today is that today is the day that I got back from the epic Mastermind experience. It is currently the 18th of January, 2018. And I had an amazing weekend this weekend out in San Diego. I linked up with my man Kieran o', Brien, Caleb Maddox, as well as a ton of other people that were there. But it was just super cool because this year, coming back to the event, I had so much experience with growing my agency and growing my personal brand to over hundreds and thousands of followers, recently getting verified on Instagram. And I remember literally the first time that I went to this event, I asked the man, Kayla Maddox, I was like, yo, bro, like, how do I get verified? And this is when I literally had like 10,000 followers or less. So it was just cool to see that kind of what a year can do. When I actually started executing on the things that I knew I wanted to and then actually doing that, it just felt really cool to kind of see the change. And that can happen in under a year's time. But I really don't want this episode to be me talking about what I've done. That's not the point of it. My point is that, number one, a year can be a long time if you make it a long time by the actions you put in daily. As well as I want to go over some things that I learned this weekend that I'd like to share with you that really helped me kind of understand a few things differently that I know would be valuable to you. So overall, this weekend, I learned a lot about just staying focused because I feel like a lot of people, not that they don't get focused, but they aren't focused on the right things. And for me, for example, I know when I first got started into online marketing and kind of trying to make money online, I spread myself short all the time. And what I mean by spread myself short is that there were so many opportunities to do, but I was doing all of them very, very minimal and gradually, meaning I wasn't going deep into my work. I wasn't thinking deep, I wasn't thinking long term. And that's. I feel like a lot of people get stuck at is they try to do everything and they end up doing nothing. And if that's you listening right now, the key points I want you to take away from this podcast is pick out one thing or a couple things that you know that you can handle and manage and Execute on properly. Like for me, for example, I own a marketing agency as well as I run my podcast, my personal brand, as well as I do some mentoring and coaching. So those are things I know I can handle. I'm not saying you only have to pick one certain thing, but don't try to do everything. Don't try to do seven different industries and work on them and master them all at the same time, because you're gonna get confused. You're gonna really not go deep into your work, and it's just gonna be overall a situation where, looking back, I know from experience that you'll kind of regret trying to do everything and not something at your best behavior. So another thing I really want to touch on, like I said, staying focused is just making sure that you're mastering your craft in an area, something that you can very much confidently build on. Which I know for me is personal branding. I know for me is social media growth and just overall growth, hacking different platforms, such as a podcast, such as a Facebook page, Instagram, whatever it may be. I know that I'm focusing on my specialties now, and it overall helps me stay focused because I know that I'm building on it for the long term. So, that being said, another key point I want you to take away from this is, like I said earlier, stay focused. And as well as don't try to do everything, stay focused on things that you can master. But also, whenever I say the word master, I really don't like using that word a lot because I always feel that being a student to the game is the most important thing. And I feel like as soon as you start saying you're an expert at something, you start to just plateau. And I feel like you always must master your craft, but do it in a way that you're always a student of the game. So also, I talked to a very interesting person this weekend at the Epic Mastermind Experience. I'm actually going to be getting him on my podcast soon, but I'm just going to be giving you guys a brief little story that he told me. So pretty much this story is all about perseverance. It's all about what I learned from this, because I know I touched on a few key points that I took away from the event, but this is a story that I want to get across to you, which I just thought was very cool. I had the pleasure to have dinner with this gentleman, and I just want to kind of give you a story that he told me. So pretty much this guy named James, I will be Getting him on my podcast soon. But he told me when he was a young kid, his dad was super, super, just innovated, innovative. And pretty much he told me that around his local area there was a gas station that the petroleum in the gas leaked into the soil. And from that leakage into the soil, it costed more to treat the soil than how much the real estate itself costed overall. So to kind of summarize what I just said so far, a gas station leaked, the soil was messed up, all the petroleum was inside of the soil, and it caused and made the real estate of that property less than actually how much it would cost to clean the soil. So therefore all these lots and gas stations were going vacant. People didn't want to pay for them because they knew that from the petroleum leaking into the soil that the real estate was not doing well. And overall they had to make a change. So whether that be selling it for very, very low value. But this guy James and his father came along and literally bought each property for $1, because the people that were selling it knew that it was a depreciating asset for them and they thought selling it for a dollar would just take it off their shoulders and it wouldn't mean anything and that anyone who owned the property would just be very, very in debt. The soil was terrible, but what he overall did was super amazing that I thought I wanted to share with you today and that all the petroleum inside of the soil, he then went and found companies that needed soil with petroleum in it, such as a mulch company. And I'll definitely be getting him on my podcast soon that you guys can know more about the story. But he ended up selling this property and utilizing the soil to sell to other companies and made a fortune from it. And I just thought it was super cool because the outlook that he had on this entire deal, something that not many people had, the people that already own the soil weren't thinking about that. And I think it was super cool just to hear that story because he literally got a property for $1 and did this. This was not recent. This was about 30, 35 years ago. But it was just an amazing story that I learned from the Epic Mastermind Experience this weekend and I wanted to share it with you. But of course there is more in depth to the story. Like I said, you'll be hearing it very, very shortly on the Rise of the Young podcast, so stay tuned. But the overall message I took away from this weekend at the Epic Mastermind Experience was that perseverance is the key and not perseverance in the wrong direction, but perseverance in a way that once you actually understand what you're doing and you're getting results and you know that going forward with it is something that will not harm you, but benefit you, doubling down on that and being obsessively obsessed, like my mentor, Dan Fleshman always says. He says whenever he gets into a business, he is obsessively obsessed with not even making it a success, but just providing value to people and going in and making it the best at what he's doing. So I would say for everyone listening, like I talked about earlier, staying focused, mastering your craft, but being an individual who perseveres and sees different angles of the table. Because if you're able to take, like I said from that story, a piece of property that people thought was an appreciating asset and. And literally get it for a dollar and then resell what was in the soil to companies that needed it, he had a different outlook than what the original owners had. They thought it was just gonna depreciate and they were losing money and all that sort of stuff. But the main point I want to get across is that having a different outlook on life and really having that eye to see certain things in the industry is very, very vital to progressing. And overall, that's just a story. Like I said, I wanted to share. There's nothing more in depth that I want to go over in the story so far. But overall, like I said, this podcast was about my experience at the Epic Mastermind Experience this weekend in San Diego, California. I wanted to drop this podcast because I actually had the opportunity to speak at the Epic Mastermind, and I'll be dropping that audio very, very shortly on the podcast. But for everyone listening, my main key points that I want you to take away right now is to really write down and stay focused on what you're currently doing and to really analyze and appreciate that what you're doing is. Has appeared for you and you took action on it due to your circumstances, and that once you let your circumstances kind of play out, that's how you'll be able to see where you end up going. So, overall, I'm not trying to make this a motivational ranting podcast. I just wanted to give you guys some stories that I learned from this weekend. Something super dope that I thought was interesting about the real estate deal, as well as my journey through the Epic Mastermind experience and how it's changed my life, because literally a year from two days ago was the first time I went to California to the Epic Mastermind experience. And from that event, I literally went to California like eight or nine times in 2017 for business. And it was just a major pivoting point for me that I know that you can have this. Not the same, but the same realm of a pivot due to the fact that there's just so much opportunity out there, but it's not going to come towards you. I took a risk. I went to an event, I flew me and my dad out, and it was something that I didn't know the outcome, but looking back, I really see how it pivoted me and maybe made me connect with other people and really persevere through networking, which is vital to what I'm doing now. But overall, guys, I really just want you guys to stay focused. I want everyone listening to overall execute on what they're doing daily and really to maximize their time every single day on what they do. Because that's the most important thing that I've gotten from this. So that being said, everyone, that was a brief summary of what I've learned from the Epic Mastermind experience, what I want you guys to take away and remember. I'll be getting that story in depth on the podcast soon, so just sit back, relax, keep on subscribing, leave a review, drop a rating. And for everyone not subscribed to the Rise of the Young podcast yet, make sure you drop a review, subscribe, share it with a friend. That's the best way I'll be able to get my message out. And I really appreciate every single one of you listening. And it would be super, super beneficial to the both of us if you were to share this message, share an episode with a friend. Because at the end of the day, I'm not doing this for myself. I'm doing it for you guys. But that being said, I want to thank you for tuning into the Rise of the Young podcast and I will see you guys on the next episode. PE.
