I've been on this kick lately about the most important thing, the one most important thing that you should be doing that if you're able to do it, will make other things easier and sometimes even unnecessary. I read the concept in a book, I think it's called the One Thing. And it was a real powerful book. I read it a long time ago and I revisited it the other day. I just got a lot of clarity over my priorities and making sure that, you know, at the beginning of the day, I'll write down all the things that I want to get done, I'll number them, and I make sure that I'm doing the most important thing throughout the day. And as things come up, because they do, I add them to my list. And then when I knock something off and I look at that list, I want to see if something I added is going to be more important than my next number two or number three that I prioritize at the beginning of the day. And it's important because you have to be able to get things done, but you don't just want to be busy doing things all day and not having a purpose. And more importantly, not overstepping the most important thing that you could be doing that could be making everything else easier. I think it's important to look at this concept and also look at it from a bigger scale. Meaning are you doing things today that you're not going to be doing a year from now, or five years from now, or ten years from now? I mean, honestly, I like to be thinking that what I'm doing today, I'm going to be doing 25 years from now. I can't guarantee that I'm going to be, but I can certainly be more deliberate with what I choose to do today and how I choose to spend my time and the projects and everything that I start and that I continue to stay wrapped up in if I know that long term it's going to serve a purpose. And I think a lot of people lose sight of that. They're just stuck in the day to day of just getting whatever they need to get done. Or if you're an entrepreneur and you have new ideas because you have this curse of capabilities and you can do anything because you're able to do so many different things with all the different tools that are out there today, and you have all these great ideas, it could be a nemesis for you to just constantly be going in different directions every time you have an idea. So I love to brainstorm and I like to kick it around with Other people, and they'll sometimes take me literally, and it's. They don't need to because I'm just kind of flushing out my ideas. It's the way that I operate. I just know my style of work. But I am being more deliberate with what I'm pouring myself into and making sure that, you know, I'm doing things that I know will serve my purpose down the road. You can't say that what you're doing today you're going to be doing a year from now or two years from now. You have to, at some point question, are you still doing it if it's part of your job? That's a different question that you need to ask yourself. If you're going to be still working at this company, if it's still a position that you're going to want to still be working in. But there is going to be a lot ahead for everybody in the next several years with all the new technology that's being unleashed into the business atmosphere. And it's going to require people to shift and pivot and learn new skills. And right now, if you want to compare a skill to a diploma, take skills all day long. Because entrepreneurs do not care about the diplomas. They want people who know how to get the job done. And you want to pick something that you would love to do. You want to pick something that you're really good at. And that again, most importantly, if there was one thing that you could be doing today that if you could do it for the rest of your life, would make you happy, what would the one thing be? It's such a powerful question. Write that out. Think about what you'd be doing if you could just pick one either activity or one service that you would do, or one product that you'd be wrapped up in. If there was just one that you can choose, which one would you do for the next 5, 10, 15, 20 years? And then ask yourself, why aren't you doing it? And if you are, how much of it do you get pulled away from doing? It's a great question to ask yourself with anything you're involved in. What's the one thing you could be doing right now that can make everything else a little bit easier or sometimes even unnecessary, and get to work on that. Make sure you time block out most of your day for that. There's nothing more important, according to you.
