It's hard to choose discipline over pleasure. And the reason it's so hard is because one pleasure is a lot more fun to accept, and it's a lot harder to be disciplined. But one thing that I've learned about a pleasure versus discipline formula is that usually when you indulge yourself with any kind of pleasure, you feel like crap afterwards. And there's something really powerful about being disciplined and being able to create a habit for yourself that becomes part of your lifestyle that you can look back on, feel good about, because you seen that grow. And it's the way that high performers grow is they have disciplines that they've played with that have eventually become a habit that they don't have to think about anymore. But they make it look so easy. And it's not easy. You just have to actually start. So be deliberate. Delay your gratification, choose a discipline, and change your life.
