Day 129: Roger that...

Chad Silverstein made collection agency work enjoyable by experimenting and playing with ideas instead of following trends. He pushed his team to take calculated chances, stay creative, and let curiosity drive performance rather than burning out on whatever management fad came next.

Day 129.
I kind of applied this to my work. I worked at a collection agency. I wasn't in love working at a.
Collection agency, but I found a lot of things that I loved about what.
I was doing at the collection agency. And it was because I played a lot.
I got really creative with finding different.
Ways to make the most of my.
Job, whether that was professional development, opportunities to build in other people that I.
Was working with, to teach people, and to find different ways to perform at high levels and to keep learning new.
Things to try to help the business.
I just got really good at just being creative and just having fun, experimenting with different things that I could try.
To do to improve whatever it is.
I was working on personally, professionally, others.
Around me, the team. And, you know, there are a lot.
Of ideas that sucked, for sure.
And I had to be really careful.
To work against the tendency of, like, what's the next flavor of the month?
But I was a visionary and people embraced that about me. And occasionally I'd knock it out of.
The park with one of my ideas.
And I think being able to let yourself have some fun and play and really let your adventure side of you, the little kid, in you kind of get the best of whatever it is you're doing personally and professionally, whether it's outside of work or at work, but letting yourself go there and do that and not just stick to the same thing, because that's what you have to do and that's what you're supposed to do. I think being other other people's puppets is a problem. It's not going to fill you, and.
It'S not going to allow you to.
Grow and expand your skill, set your.
Capabilities and be able to perform, you.
Know, using different ideas, collaborations, and uncover.
Things that you never thought were possible.
And the only way to do that is to have some fun and play and explore. So you got to let that little.
Kid inside you, get out once in a while.
And it starts usually with putting some.
Pen to paper and getting creative with.
It and taking some chances once in a while so that you're not stuck.
Doing the same old thing, getting burned.
Out if you're working too hard towards.
Whatever aim you're on right now. You know, make sure you find something.
In that passion list that you can inject to soften it up and to have some fun once in a while so that you understand why you're doing what you're doing. And you remember that, you know, the pursuit is really where the satisfaction comes from.
Once you hit the end results.
Okay, it's great.
You're happy, and then you're ready to move on to the next thing.
So embrace the mundane. Embrace being in the thick of things and know when you're on the verge of burnout. And keep playing and exploring and having fun.
