Chad Silverstein (Day 136) gives a short motivational talk about building personal "guardrails"—practices, boundaries, and strategies—to protect and design one’s mental health and life. He emphasizes deliberate life-design over reactive living, encourages picking one area (learning, physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, relationships) to improve, and challenges listeners to author and share a personal list of healthy habits.

Day 136 reminds me of the guardrails, building guardrails, and fences in your life to protect you and to set up certain ways of being that are healthy for you, and to have whatever strategies that you build into your core to make sure that you're aligned, living the way you want to live by design, and that you're in control of what you're doing and where you're spending and investing your time. And I'm going to challenge you to come up with your own list. I mean, this list that Chat came up with is phenomenal, you know, and you can ask yourself whether or not you do any of these things, but the real question is, do you have a list? Do you have a list? Do you ever think about it? Most people will never think about it their whole life, but to be mentally healthy is something completely different than your physical health from based on the way you eat and the way you're being active. And I think, you know, your mental health has a lot to do with the decisions and the choices and, and the way you set up and design your life. And you either are going to react to everything that's happening around you, or you're going to be more deliberate. You're going to kind of put things that you know are healthy that you love, and again, playing with different strategies for what's going to make you live at your best version of yourself. I mean, what could be better than that? And so whether you choose it around learning, whether it's around your physical, your mental health, whether it's about your spiritual side, your emotional side, your relationship side, pick something, make sure you're working on something, and don't let life just pass you by where you look back and just wonder where the time went. Your mental health is critical for you to be a high performer, and it's critical that it's healthy. So figure out where it's not so healthy and start working there and then, you know, figure out where it's working really well and make that better. One thing at a time. Pick something and if you want, share your list, create a list, author it, throw it into the community, let us see it, let us give you some feedback, and have fun with it. This should be a fun thing for you to be able to, again, design the type of life that you want to live.
