A short, first-person monologue by Chad Silverstein addressing addiction broadly (including substance, behavioral, and relational addictions). He urges listeners to confront addiction honestly, avoid living a double life, seek help, establish safeguards, and anchor recovery in a strong personal ‘why.’ The tone is direct, empathetic, and motivational.

So I don't care what kind of an addiction it is, whether it's one where you're using your eyes when you're using any of your senses, whether it's a relationship, whether it's a substance, whether it's, you know, with money, whatever it is, you have to, you have to hit it head on and you have to be authentically dealing with it. Living a double sided life and hiding and being one way and thinking about it and constantly struggling and watching people around you struggle trying to deal with it and realizing the ripple that you're having in people's lives as you know, you wreak havoc with whatever it is you're dealing with. There's no way to live. So just, you know, today's day is about being honest with yourself. Everybody struggles with something, everybody's addicted to something. And I don't care, you know, what it is. I don't care if you think you have one or not. It, it shows up in everybody's life in one way or another. And you just have to be honest about it and you have to do something about it. Doesn't go away, it doesn't change. And dealing with it is one of the hardest things that people have to do in their whole life. And if you haven't had it, then you're blessed. And if you've had and you've overcome it, then you know you'll be fighting it your whole life. And you have to put those fences in place and you have to again protect against yourself and not trust yourself so much. And you got to have a big why behind why it is that you want to, you know, whatever it is, abstain or you know, not do anything that's unhealthy for you. So where does it show up in your life? What are you doing about it? Who are you talking to about it? And are you get getting help if you need, if you need help and you have to be honest with yourself and not be in denial.
