Day 144: Phed...

A short YouTube conversation between Chad Silverstein and a second speaker advising listeners to stop complaining and playing the victim because it wastes energy and annoys others, and to adopt a long-term 'marathon, not a sprint' mindset—practicing patience in career, relationships, and personal goals.

You ever notice how at work and your family, people just in general, that, you know, maybe some of your friends, that there are just always people who complain, hopefully you're not one of them.
We all can kind of once in a while get into this state of.
Mind where we complain about things, but it's such a waste of energy. It doesn't do you any good. It just drives people nuts, and no one cares. No one wants to hear you complain. And so the first challenge today is for you to figure out where you're complaining, where you're trying to get sympathy.
From people, where you actually play victim.
In your life and stop, just stop.
No one cares, and it's annoying. And so you got to protect yourself.
Against being a complainer.
And the second way is to adopt the mindset that it's a marathon, not a sprint.
And that everything you're doing, from building a core, authoring an opus, pursuing a promotion, whatever it is that you are doing in your life, pursuing a healthy lifestyle, healthy relationships, it doesn't happen overnight.
You know, today you have kids coming out of college. We're so used to things happening so fast. I mean, I have an Amazon distribution center by my house. I literally click a button, they're there that day.
It's unbelievable how we're so spoiled with just having.
Having everything happen so fast. And unfortunately, it's a problem because then we carry that over into our life when we expect other things. I had people that used come into work and, you know, three or four or five, six months in, they're coming to me, not happy about how much money they make. I mean, it's absolutely ridiculous. You know, I mean, they obviously are entitled and they think they deserve things, and, you know, you shouldn't expect anything.
The first three to six months.
So I think, you know, being able to have some awareness of not only whether or not you're complaining about things.
In your life and wasting your energy.
And just being annoying to other people around you and. Or you're just not adopting the mindset that it's a marathon, not a sprint.
And to embrace that and embrace it.
And you won't get so frustrated.
You know, study yourself and see where and what triggers you. And if it's being impatient, then work on it, because everything happens at the.
Right time and place.
At least that's what I believe.
So the real question is, what do you believe? And what does your worldview say about.
Being patient, about complaining and about things.
Taking time and not happening overnight?
