Day 160: Let us run...

This short transcript excerpt records a conversation between Chad Silverstein and another speaker about the centrality of worldview and belief systems. They argue worldview shapes how you live, informs persistence and failure, and should be actively reviewed (some clients review it daily); leaders are characterized as "believers," and listeners are encouraged to stay open to having beliefs challenged and changed.

Hopefully you've gotten to the point where you've heard it enough from us that your worldview is the foundation.
It's the source for how you live.
Your life and how you process everything that happens in your life. But it also is the catalyst that.
You'Ll use as a springboard for everything else that you're going to do.
Because again, it's going to be a.
Lot easier for you to pursue something.
And fail and fail and fail and just keep jumping to the next fail.
With enthusiasm until you can succeed or you quit based on what you believe.
About whatever it is you're doing or.
Whatever it is that you're experiencing with.
Whatever it is that you have going on in your life.
And that all stems from your belief.
On whatever it is that you are.
Thinking about doing and doing right now.
And you got to keep rinsing that.
Worldview and you got to try to live it.
And so again, some clients have the discipline to review it daily as they wake up. It's sort of like their meditation that they'll do.
And you want those bu bolted down beliefs about why you're here, you know what you're doing. And again, being very deliberate with the way that you think and the way that you write down statements in your worldview that will be what you use.
For taking action and deciding how you want to live your life again, between your purpose and your principles and who.
You are, your identity, you know, there it all stems from your belief system. Leaders are believers and most people are not. It's a fact.
Just don't be like most people.
Don't stop working on your worldview. Don't be lazy.
Keep adding, keep rinsing.
Keep adding the exceptions.
Think about where you're struggling in your.
Life and put in what you believe about that. Hopefully you can catch your brain thinking.
In a way that's not so healthy.
Or you're assuming and you're wrong and let some people in to challenge you. Challenge your belief system and you'll be.
Surprised what comes out of that.
Either your beliefs are bolted down even stronger or you change it because you actually don't believe what you thought you did, which happens all the time.
All you have to do is think about how someone gives you an insight.
And you completely flip your mindset. You're like, wow, wow, that's a great, great perspective. And you know when you can do.
That, you have to be open to.
The fact that that can happen with anything.
And so that means that all your.
Current beliefs, you know, depending on if they're bolted down or not are open.
To be changed, you got to stay open to that. Because you evolve, you change. Means your beliefs will change.
Not all of them, but many of them will, just through experience and what we call wisdom.
