Day 178: Begin to believe...

Chad Silverstein leads a conversation on building leaders through a practice of naming self-limiting beliefs, writing them down, and taking small action steps. The group supports each other through check-ins to overcome fears like public speaking and conflict, aiming to create a culture where leaders develop other leaders.

I had a similar situation with day 178 with some employees in my office where we would talk about insecurities and having to conquer our insecurities. A lot of times it's had to do with leadership stuff and leading others. Because I always say that the best way to see how you're doing it as a leader is are you building.
Other leaders who can build other leaders? So I was very big into like making sure my leadership team was strong and I could help them and empower them so that they can go back and they can build other leaders on their team.
And so, so again, you could just build that sustainable system for a healthy culture where it's not just all sitting on a few people at the top. And we used to put our insecurities on the table, trust each other, that.
We could be there for each other.
Pick a tough one. And then we would write out those self limiting beliefs and we would put some baby steps in action and then we would support each other, we would.
Support each other and check in with each other. And it was amazing how many times.
We saw people overcome whatever their, whatever their stick was. You know, maybe it was speaking in public in front of the entire company. You know, maybe it was addressing conflict, maybe it was lack of confidence in their results. I mean, there was just things we just hit head on. And it's amazing hearing people's self limiting beliefs and knowing they're not true, but.
They actually believe they're true.
And watching people transform what they believe because they finally catch it, they can see that it's not true and they flip it into something that is actually positive, that they actually believe that has the power to move people. And so you want to try to figure out where those exist in your worldview. And if you haven't addressed the self limiting ones, try it, try it. Pick one and work towards overcoming it and see how powerful that transformation can be for you. It's just life changing.
