Day 190: Reminders...

Chad Silverstein delivers a brief motivational reminder encouraging viewers to treat their lives as stories they author. He contrasts inspiring, adventurous "hero's journey" narratives with dull, sleepwalking routines, stresses personal choice and consequences, and urges action: pursue passions, seize experiences, and change unhealthy situations by committing to do so.

Here's one thing I love to remind myself of often, and that is that we get really inspired and excited when we're reading stories about people. It's why movies are so popular, because you see a movie and you see that hero's journey and it inspires you. You get two hours to kind of veg out and see someone else's story. Usually it's the underdog who then becomes the champ, someone who overcomes the challenge. That's why I think the entertainment industry has done so well with movies, because it makes us feel so good when you can see people have that their builder's journey that we call it. And the reminder is that everybody's got their own story, including you. And what's crazy is that you author your own story. You're designing your story. If someone was watching your movie and they literally were flying the wall in your life, watching you go about your day, what would they see? What's the story of your life? What would someone say? Would someone be engaged watching you, excited to see what you were going to do next, left on the edge of their seat? Because you're spontaneous, adventurous, you love to try new things, you like to grow, you take chances. Or are they seeing someone sleepwalking, Numb coping, going through the motions? And I think if you were to look at most of America today, unfortunately you're not going to see the majority of the people. Selling out the theaters. Most stories are not inspirational. They're not one that would keep us on the edge of the seat. But you actually have a choice. And so today's reminder, I just want to challenge you to remember that you're authoring your own story, that you have more control than you think. And even though there are a lot of things you can't control, the things that you can control can make your life very exciting or very dull. And that's a choice. And choice has consequences. As we always say. Do something about it. Enjoy life. Tap into your passions. Try a once in a lifetime opportunity experience bucket list. Do something. Take a free day. And just remind yourself often as you can, that you are authoring your story. And your story is yours. It's yours to design, however you want. So if you're stuck in a place that is not healthy for you right now, you can change. You just have to want it bad enough and you have to be willing to do anything to get out of it.
