Day 230: Learning about beautiful systems…

Chad Silverstein says beautiful organizations are built on people and their stories. He recommends leaders have team members write and share their personal journeys to build trust and chemistry. AI makes people more relevant, not less.

The most beautiful system in the world is you. When I read this day, I don't know why it made me think of this. But, you know, we always talk about studying history and there's always so many good examples when you look back that, you know, we can look to inspire us that we can learn from. What's incredible is that everyone has a story. Everyone has some crazy story. You just have to tap into it and see what you can learn from it. But even you, you have your own story, your builder's journey. As a leader, it's important to tap into the people who are around you, especially the people who are like all in, and get them to tell and share their story. And if they can't, then maybe you can help them and you can share their story. Because there's nothing more beautiful in a system than bringing out the best in the people that are making the system so beautiful. It's what makes beautiful systems beautiful is the people that are in that. This is why AI can't compete with people. Eight is not making people more beautiful, it's making people more relevant. And I think if you can tap into what makes the individuals in your system so beautiful and makes it what it is, then you can make it even better by bringing out the best in them. And this also means being kind to yourself and realizing that your own story is something to celebrate and tapping into that builder's journey. You know, we challenge everyone on my team to write out their own builder's journey. It's a really cool exercise to like, watch your team do that and then in practice get up and read it in front of everybody and there's something really incredible that happens. You know, most people won't even do built sleep practice, but the systems that have the courage to go ahead and bring a company like ours in and gets the team to connect in that way. And then you hear people on your team standing up and sharing things that make them so distinctly beautiful. There's a feeling that you're uniting your team and you're seeing the unique, special qualities in people that you normally wouldn't see if you were just on the floor or on the phones or doing whatever it is you're doing at work. And when you can tap into what makes an individual so beautiful, people build trust. People want to do things for those people. They want to work closer with those individuals. And if you get really good at this, you can create a chemistry within your team that you'll see sports team have when they're playing together where they can almost read each other, they know how each other thinks. They know where someone's going to be. They know when someone has a tendency to go dark, and they know when to go put their arm around that person to pick them up. And when you can build that in your culture, that's very special. And so I believe that that's what makes cultures beautiful. So the question is, what do you think? Are you tapping into people around you and finding their special, unique qualities that make them so special? And are you be able to pull that out of them so that people will connect with people on a deeper level? That's definitely a leader worth, worth following. When someone can do that, that's someone who's going to run a very special company culture.
