A short YouTube conversation led by Chad Silverstein (Day 263: "Feel and think...") focused on the idea of an "opus" — a personal, meaningful life project or dream. The speakers prompt listeners to identify what they truly love and argue that many people either cannot name their dream or assume it's unrealistic. The segment emphasizes that pursuing an opus requires heart and sustained emotion (not just transient motivation), using the image of a mother running into a burning house as a metaphor for sacrifice and courage. The piece encourages taking steps toward a burning passion to open opportunities and persist through obstacles.

The 12 Essentials of Excellence doesn't have as much talk about opus than some of the other things. That content that we deliver at build two lead, especially in practice, day 263 is loaded with opus. It's all about opus. And it does. It really starts with answering a question.
That if you were just asked blindly.
Like, you know, what do you love? What's your dream? You know, can you answer the question? And most people can't. And most people who can don't think that what they're thinking of is realistic. When it's very realistic. It's just. Their perception is just not. It's limited. It's limited. So sometimes, you know, you just need to get a shot in the arm, kick in the ass, you learn something new. You realize there's something out there, you make a connection, and all of a sudden, you know, if you. If you have something that's really burning inside you and you take a couple steps towards it, you never know what kind of a door will open up, what kind of an opportunity kind of.
Just shows its face, and you normally.
Won'T see it unless you're looking. And when you go after an opus and you think about what you want.
To aim at for your life, that's a big deal.
So you better have some emotion behind that. You better have some heart behind that, because you know, you won't withstand the challenge, and you won't have the courage to overcome, you know, the different obstacles that you're going to get hit with.
Unless you're feeling this love. This is why we talk about when a.
When a. When a mother has to run into a burning house to get her kid, there's no hesitation. She has so much love for this kid, she's willing to do something that's unrealistic. And all you have to do is kind of think about that in any aspect of your life. Are you willing to go after your big dream? Are you willing to pursue something that's bigger than yourself? And the only way to sustain that.
Is with your heart.
Because you can't run on motivation and inspiration all day long, every day, all.
Year, year after year, there are gonna.
Be times where it's gonna kind of settle down and things aren't gonna be so great. And that's where you fill your heart up, and you let it carry you during tough times. And if you don't have that, you're gonna quit. You're gonna quit, or you won't even get started.
