Day 305: This is OPUS...

Chad Silverstein and a guest define your opus as work that feels like love, not labor. They contrast people trapped in unfulfilling 9-to-5 jobs with those who build something because they know why it matters. Start by writing down what you actually want to do.

If there's one thing you can say about someone who is living their opus, you could tell that they actually are in love with what they do. And when they talk about what they do, it doesn't sound like work. And I think that's everybody's aim. It's a worthy aim. Maybe not everybody's trying to pursue that.
You have to question why they wouldn't. But you know, most people reality is that they're hating their job and either.
Looking for a new one or, or dread getting up every day and going in and kind of working that 9.
To 5 and repeat every day the.
Same thing and then have expectations that increase every year and probably making less money, making someone else wealthy. So it's a tough reality. And I think things are changing. I think right now is a great opportunity for people to shift and you deserve to have an opus. And that's what this discipline's about.
We don't go too deep into opus.
In this, in this book right now because this was Based on the 12 Essentials of Personal excellence.
But you know, your opus is your big dream drive, a dream speech.
And people say that they can't go do what they love because it doesn't pay. And you know, it's just not true.
There's millions of nuances that can make.
What you're saying not true if that's what your belief is. It's a self limiting belief. And I'm going to show you a couple examples of the difference of someone.
With a mindset that they can't grow.
They can't put themselves out there, they can't take the opportunity when it's sitting right in front of them versus someone who creates an opportunity because they have clarity and they have purpose. And the two examples that I'm going to share with you are very stark examples of the difference between whether or not you either have something that you're aiming at a big dream in your.
Life or you don't. And you got to be honest with yourself and just self assess. Have you done the hard work?
Have you sat down?
Have you started writing it out? Have you been draying on it forever, feeling like you're on rinse 200?
Because that's usually when the magic happens and when something pops out at you and you say that's it.
So you got to keep at it. And most people don't. So that's why we say both. Delete is for the few. So see if that's, if that's you.
