Day 360: Hole to whole...

Chad Silverstein argues that pursuing fullness requires taking responsibility for your own growth rather than blaming circumstances. He recommends closing integrity gaps through small, consistent steps, especially repairing relationships, to avoid future regrets.

It's a crazy thought if you think about everybody pursuing that fullness in their life that they want, that oneness with themselves and with other people, that you just won't have it. It's a harsh reality, but I think there's only so much you can do, and there's only so much control you have, and you have to be doing something or else you'll be stuck in victimhood. And you just think that you can't change things. And one of the ways that you can do that is by repairing, finding those relationships that are meaningful enough to you where there is a little bit of that chronic pain and just closing that gap and slowly, gradually improving relationships that matter to you and being very clear on that so that you don't grow old and then have regrets looking back, and then also so that you don't waste time. And it's. It's important to be able to do that. So be able to kind of, you know, pick something yourself where you're not whole, with something about you, an integrity gap that you have not been able to close that you're aware of, or finding one that you're not aware of and having truth tellers in your life. It's just that constant movement. It's that compound results that over time, looking back, when you see all these little things, they result in transformation. And that's the best way that it can. It can be explained. You may not think of it at the time, but my book, the way to become whole is to, you know, first identify some areas that you want to improve, then picking one or small, two small little baby steps that you can do, and then keep the consistent aim at what you're, what you're, what you want, and then make sure you're always doing something that's getting you closer to it. And a lot of times, sometimes those little baby steps are really hard, especially if that requires you to go repair someone that you don't feel like you should or don't want to or don't have to. And that's a decision that you have to make.
