Day 361: Oneness...

Chad Silverstein describes oneness as feeling whole across work, relationships, and spirituality. He spends over 80% of his time doing work he loves, surrounds himself with a few truth-tellers he can be vulnerable with, and lives by the mantra: "I know where I came from, I know where I'm going, and I know who's going to hold me accountable."

So how would I describe oneness? I would say you feel whole, you feel complete. You definitely feel a sense of being content because you don't hate what you're doing and who you're doing it with. I'll never forget I was at a practice with a bunch of executives, and I heard someone say they want to retire. And we all laughed because we knew this person wasn't going to retire. But he said, I'm retiring from people I don't want to work with, and I'm going to retire from things I don't want to do anymore. And on that day, I made a commitment to myself that I'm retiring. And I have. I have. I've made a conscious decision to not work with people I don't want to work with. And I'm done doing things I don't want to do. It doesn't mean it's perfect, and it doesn't mean there's not times where I get caught. But for the majority of my time, well over 80% of my time, I'm doing what I love and I'm within that unique ability of what I love and what I'm good at doing. And I say no to everything else and. And it took me a long time to get there. But to me, that's oneness when it comes to me and my work. And it's true what they say. You know, we talked about the quote at the beginning of this journey when the master of the art of living and letting other people determine whether you're working or playing, because to you it appears that you're doing both. And it's true, I find myself not really feel like I'm working, but I'm working. And that's what you're after. For me, that's oneness. And when you think about your relationships and you think about the people that you have in your life, I think trust and having those few truth tellers in your life, the people who know you and they know you at your core, they know you, they know your private life, they know your secret life. And that's a special individual who you can. Who you can trust and have that oneness with. So to me, it's being to be completely fully transparent and vulnerable with a few people in your life. And that to me, is what oneness would look like and feel like. And thank God I have a few of those in my life that I hold to my heart very dearly. And I think just overall in life in general, there is a sense for me, at least spiritually, of having a oneness with my relationship with the Higher Power. And for me, I use a mantra of I know where I came from, I know where I'm going, and I know who's going to hold me accountable. And for me, that humbles me very quickly and helps me feel like I know what oneness should feel like when it comes to my spiritual side. And I have a lot of belief statements in my worldview that tell me, I hope that I'm on the right track as long as I'm living a certain way that I know I want to live and align with my beliefs. And to me, again, that just that's what oneness feels like for me on the spiritual side. So what's yours? How would you describe it? How would you define it, share it, and feel good that hopefully you're going after it?
