Short interview excerpt in which a founder/scientific advisor describes expanding a foundation after accepting a partner, hiring for many key roles, and personally building teams by identifying great people, assessing their skills, and reverse-engineering roles for them.
After 20 years, I finally accepted a partner. And so we are growing significantly now. So it is all those major key roles. I mean, right now I'm a scientific advisor. I actually run the foundation myself personally. I go to these countries, sit with the locals, see the problems, and find solutions. So it's really every role that we're hiring for right now.
How would you define your role in that person's role?
Yeah, I'm the person that builds the teams. So I'm the one that has the connection. I'm the one that has the passion. I'm the one that has had the grit to be able to make this happen. Do you meet this job description where I want to find great people? So if I find a great person, then I look at their skills and I kind of reverse engineer how they can work for the company.
